- Cold Test Technicians supports the klystron manufacturing process by assembling, inspecting, measuring, and verifying subassemblies and full units prior to high-power electrical testing.
- This role focuses on ensuring mechanical integrity, alignment, vacuum readiness, and preliminary electrical characteristics of complex RF hardware.
- The technician works with precision instruments and diagnostic equipment while collaborating closely with engineering, quality, and production teams to identify discrepancies and ensure product readiness.
- Assemble, configure, and prepare klystron subassemblies and full units using engineering drawings, schematics, and manufacturing documentation.
- Perform cold testing and verification activities including dimensional checks, continuity testing, vacuum integrity verification, alignment validation, and mechanical fit assessments prior to high-voltage or RF testing.
- Operate diagnostic and measurement equipment such as network analyzers, oscilloscopes, RF signal measurement instruments, gauges, and precision torque tools to evaluate hardware condition and readiness.
- Interpret test results, identify discrepancies, and collaborate with engineering and manufacturing teams to troubleshoot and resolve issues.
- Record inspection data, measurements, and part traceability accurately within manufacturing documentation or digital systems.
- Handle, move, and position production hardware using carts, fixtures, cranes, or lifting devices while maintaining equipment safety and product integrity.
- Support contamination control, cleanroom practices, and safety protocols associated with high-value vacuum electronic hardware.
- Assist with evaluation of non-conforming or returned hardware and support root cause investigations as needed.
- Collaborate with engineering and quality teams to troubleshoot and resolve build or test discrepancies.
- Maintain organized work areas, tools, and equipment to support production efficiency and quality standards.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives related to assembly, testing, and manufacturing processes.
- Develop technical knowledge across products, RF systems, and manufacturing equipment.
- Perform other operational and production duties as assigned.

Required Skills / Qualifications:
- Associate Degree in Electronics or Technical.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in electro-mechanical assembly, electronics maintenance, RF systems, military technical roles, or a related manufacturing environment.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience troubleshooting or maintaining electronic, RF, radar, avionics, or similar technical systems is highly valued.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience handling precision components or assemblies.
Preferred Skills / Qualifications:
- Familiarity with diagnostic instruments such as oscilloscopes, network analyzers, signal analyzers, multimeters, or other electronic measurement equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and technical documentation.
- Strong mechanical aptitude.
- Experience working in regulated, safety-sensitive, or mission-critical environments (military, aerospace, medical, semiconductor, etc.).
- High attention to detail with strong documentation and communication skills.
- Proficiency with basic computer systems and willingness to learn new software tools.
- This position needs strong attention to detail, technical judgment, and comfort working with both mechanical assemblies and electronic test equipment.

- Ability to lift and move objects up to 30 lbs.
- Ability to safely maneuver heavier hardware using carts, fixtures, or lifting equipment (such as hoists or cranes).
- Combination of sitting and standing throughout the workday while operating test equipment and performing assembly or setup activities.
- Ability to push carts containing production hardware within the manufacturing area.
- Frequent use of hands for precision assembly, tool operation, and instrument setup.
- Ability to work in close proximity to electronic test equipment, high-voltage areas, and manufacturing machinery following safety procedures.
- Visual acuity sufficient to read instruments, measurements, and detailed technical documentation.
