Substation Technician

IES Commercial, Inc. - DBA IES Electrical, is seeking a Substation Technician for work around South Dakota, Nebraska and Iowa.

Job Summary

• Assists with construction, installation, maintenance and repair of electrical substation equipment in rural and municipal high voltage substations/switch yards ranging in voltage from 4.16-115 KV.
• Assists with substation switching during planned and emergency repairs and outages.
• Assists with other associated tasks such as welding, pipe bending, concrete forming and finishing, and erection of steel structures.
• Reads and interprets blueprints, plan and profile, one line schematics.
• Complies with all company and customer safety policies and procedures.
• Travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year education or experience in utility line or substation work or equivalent experience
• Class A or B CDL or ability to obtain.
• OSHA 10 or ability to obtain.
• Successfully pass pre-employment (post offer) MVR check when responsibilities require operating motor vehicles.
• Successfully pass pre-employment (post offer) drug test.
• Successfully pass pre-employment (post offer) background check when applicable per customer contract requirement.
