Job Summary

The Asset Management Operations Associate supports Cabot's Asset Management team across a range of analytical, operational, and reporting responsibilities, with a particular focus on valuations, investor reporting, and data-driven analysis. Reporting to the Vice President of Asset Management, this role plays an integral part in supporting the day-to-day operations of Cabot's global logistics real estate portfolio.

This position is well suited for an individual with exceptional Excel skills, a solid foundation and understanding of real estate, and an interest in institutional asset management. The associate will work closely with Asset Management, Investments, Investor relations, Accounting, and third-party service providers, supporting both recurring processes and ad hoc analytical initiatives that inform decision-making and investor communications.

Key Responsibilities

Valuation & Financial Analysis



  • Build, maintain, and update property- and portfolio-level valuation models using Excel and Argus Enterprise.
  • Support quarterly valuation and reforecasting processes, including data collection, assumption updates, quality control, and documentation.
  • Assist in reviewing valuation assumptions with Asset Management and Investments teams to ensure alignment with asset strategies and current market conditions.
  • Perform sensitivity and scenario analyses to help identify key drivers of value and risk.


Investor Reporting & Portfolio Analytics



  • Support the preparation of recurring investor and management reports, including performance summaries, valuation updates, and portfolio-level analytics.
  • Assist in developing presentation materials for internal asset reviews and external investor communications.
  • Analyze asset- and portfolio-level financial and operational data to identify trends, variances, and insights.
  • Maintain and enhance datasets used for investor reporting, including historical performance, valuations, and market benchmarks.


Asset Management Operations & Ad Hoc Analysis



  • Support day-to-day Asset Management operations by responding to ad hoc analytical requests related to leasing activity, capital projects, asset performance, and portfolio initiatives.
  • Partner with Accounting, Property Management, and Investments to ensure data accuracy and consistency across internal systems and reports.
  • Assist with coordinating data requests and materials for third-party appraisers, auditors, and consultants.
  • Help improve workflows, templates, and processes to increase efficiency, scalability, and data integrity across Asset Management reporting.


Data & Systems Support



  • Utilize advanced Excel skills to manipulate, analyze, and automate large datasets used in valuation, reporting, and operational analysis.
  • Leverage basic SQL querying (or a willingness to learn) to extract and validate data from internal databases where applicable.
  • Support the continued development and maintenance of reporting tools, dashboards, and standardized outputs.


Qualifications & Experience



  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Real Estate, Economics, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • 2-4 years of experience in real estate, asset management, investment analysis, consulting, or a highly analytical role.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (financial modeling, lookups, pivot tables, data manipulation); VBA or Power Query a plus.
  • Experience with Argus Enterprise preferred but not required.
  • Basic working knowledge of SQL (writing simple queries, understanding relational data) preferred.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills with a high level of attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt to changing requests in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and a collaborative, team-oriented approach.
  • High level of professionalism and discretion when handling confidential financial and investor information.
