Product Owner

Genesis10 is currently seeking a Product Owner - Remote position with a Large Energy Company located in Minneapolis, MN. This is a 12+ month contract opportunity.

Pay range: $80.00 - $84.00 per Hour

Scope of the work/project:

• Own product strategy and vision for a wildfire-related portfolio (not a single product).
  • Responsibilities include backlog and agile delivery oversight, vendor relations and software/subscription management, stakeholder communication, and liaison with project delivery teams to ensure work aligns with business needs.
  • Portfolio spans products such as a public-facing outage map (Esri/GIS), risk tools (e.g., TechnoSilva), meteorology/weather and fire risk data solutions, and data/analytics integrating weather, fire risk, and asset data

• What does a typical day look like?
  • Meet with business representatives on emerging demand; collaborate with program/project delivery teams; review/guide vendor roadmaps and contracts; coordinate cross-collaboration with other product owners; ensure project outputs match stakeholder needs

• Utility/Energy industry experience, ideally with wildfire risk exposure.
• Experience in Agile/DevOps contexts and product owner/IT delivery roles.
• Vendor/solution management, including software contracts/licensing and alignment of vendor vs. internal roadmaps.
• Familiarity with GIS platforms (Esri mentioned).
• Exposure to risk tools (e.g., TechnoSilva), meteorology/weather data, and data/analytics
• Strong verbal/written communication, decision-making, ability to lead meetings, operate independently, and provide thought leadership (without people management).

• GIS platforms, project management background (to navigate PM context), and regulatory/safety familiarity relevant to wildfire
• Regulated utility background preferred.
