Job Description

The Asset Based Lending (ABL) Portfolio Manager II is primarily responsible for helping managing a portfolio of ABL client relationships to ensure proper credit oversight, collateral and loan administration and financial performance oversight. The PM II role has both client-facing responsibilities and credit management responsibilities. The PM II will support senior portfolio managers and underwriters as needed. In addition, the PM II may act as the primary PM for a small number of less complex accounts. The ABL PMs act as a liaison between credit administration and our clients. These individuals have product and industry expertise working with commercial and corporate borrowers with borrowing needs from $5 million to several hundred million in both a single-lender and syndicated participation or agent roles.

Team Culture

Every day, our team members push the boundaries of what's possible, striving for excellence with our teams, clients, and business. As a financial institution that breaks the mold, we focus on building relationships through expertise and sound advice, rather than merely promoting products. Join us to build your career, fuel your curiosity, develop lasting relationships, and make a real impact. Even after more than a century, we're more excited than ever about our future.

How You'll Spend Your Time
  • You will build strong, trustbased relationships with portfolio company operators and engage in client entertainment to maintain rapport.
  • You will foster accountable partnerships with internal teams and external stakeholders including RMs, credit officers, partner banks, examiners, appraisers, and attorneys.
  • You will collaborate with and oversee the work of analysts supporting your portfolio, while also playing an active role in training and developing analysts and other ABL staff.
  • You will produce highquality written credit materials such as requests, reviews, watchlists, and amendments for your portfolio and senior ABL leaders.
  • You will develop expertise with the ABL collateral monitoring system and create strategies to grow, crosssell, or adjust each account relationship.
  • You will understand the broader commercial finance landscape and actively review, edit, and negotiate legal documentation and amendments with counsel.
Education & Experience Requirements

This level of knowledge is normally acquired through completion of a Bachelor's degree and 5-7 years of commercial or ABL relationship management, collateral exam and/or credit underwriting experience; or 13+ years of equivalent work related experience.
