Summary

Under the direction of the Assistant Vice President - Payment Solutions, responsible for performing a variety of activities regarding delinquent accounts. This position requires vast knowledge of collection and bankruptcy laws and practices, and knowledge of consumer and mortgage loan documents.

Expected Outcomes



  • Low delinquency, members are current with payments.
  • Cause of delinquency is uncovered.
  • Members who are not able to cure their delinquency are identified in a timely manner.
  • Delinquency and compliance processes are completed accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Members are financially educated and referred to optional programs and services as needed.
  • Reporting and additional duties are completed in an accurate and timely manner.



Capability Requirements



  • High school diploma or equivalent and post-secondary business-related course work.
  • Two years' experience in a collection's environment or financial industry call center.
  • Have or be able to attain a Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System (NMLS) number.
  • Professional, well-developed interpersonal skills essential for projecting a positive image as representative of the Credit Union.
  • Work requires knowledge and understanding of consumer collections, compliance and regulation as it relates to best practices and handling of collection matters on delinquent accounts.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Mathematical skills required.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to use effective problem solving to make risk-based decisions.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

  • Physical Demands of Position: While performing the duties of this position, the employee is required to sit, stand and walk, use hands and fingers. The employee occasionally must reach above and below shoulder level, and lift/push/pull and /or carry up to 10 pounds.
  • Environmental/Working Conditions: Works in a typical administrative setting with climate control and appropriate lighting. Travel to branches requires exposure to outdoor and traffic conditions.
  • Equipment Used: Variety of office equipment (telephone, printer, pc, mobile devices, etc).
