About the role

We are seeking a serviceoriented, detaildriven professional with stellar communication skills to support Symetra's Events & Travel team. This fastpaced, dynamic role helps coordinate companywide internal and external meetings and special events. This includes internal team meetings, sales team client facing meetings, board of directors meetings, brand events, and other ad hoc meetings, plus departmental assistance with procurement, travel vendors, and sports sponsorship. The primary responsibility of this role will be to assist with all facets of Symetra events such as planning, tracking, execution, and post-event follow-up. Responsibilities will also include assisting with keeping accurate financial records for each event. This position will engage closely with all levels of management, business professionals, and external clients. Candidates must be able to travel frequently for onsite support domestically, and occasionally internationally, if needed.

What you will do



  • Onsite travel to Bellevue, WA Corporate Office and the greater Seattle area as needed.
  • Assist the Events Manager and broader Events & Travel team with planning and delivering the various meetings and events that Symetra hosts. This includes traveling to event locations domestically and internationally.
  • Prepare RFPs and research hotels, meeting sites, restaurants, vendors and special event venues, while maintaining databases of contacts and details for future references.
  • Build and manage communications for each meeting or event and answer questions from attendees.
  • Create, test, and maintain custom websites and registration sites tailored to each meeting or event.
  • Manage and track registrations and keep spreadsheets up-to-date.
  • Serve as support or sometimes the primary contact for onsite events at the Symetra Events Center in Bellevue. This includes pre-event planning coordination, onsite management, catering facilitation, audio visual liaison, cleanup, and other tasks.
  • Ensure events are completed on time, within scope, and with high attendee happiness. Onsite logistics run efficiently with minimal customer concerns and issues resolved quickly. Event delivery adheres to brand standards and operational procedures.
  • Assist with vendor sourcing and relationship building to provide various options and price comparisons to result in the most favorable booking.
  • Help ensure the appropriate logistics and arrangements are made for events (hotel rooms, special requests, meeting space needs, BEOs, transportation, decor, audio/visual needs, etc.).
  • Track planning achievements for each event using project management software, Adobe Workfront.
  • Collaborate with procurement team to order event supplies and Symetra logo'd items and/or gifts.
  • Assist with tracking costs and attendee expensing by event, as needed.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams on event-related needs such as community service projects, multimedia needs, communications, finance, etc. as needed.

Compensation

Salary Range: $66,100 - $110,100 plus eligibility for annual bonus program.

Who You Are



  • High School Diploma required; college degree preferred.
  • 2-5 years of cumulative, relevant experience
  • Professional certifications or designations appropriate and relevant for this role.
