Job Summary

The Buyer I is responsible for procuring goods and services for the organization while ensuring cost-effectiveness, quality, and timely delivery. This role collaborates with internal stakeholders and external vendors to meet procurement needs and supports the organization's operational objectives through effective purchasing and supplier management.

Job Responsibilities




  • Review purchase requisitions and requests to determine appropriate procurement methods



  • Identify potential suppliers and solicit bids or quotations for goods and services



  • Evaluate supplier proposals and negotiate terms, pricing, and contracts to achieve the best value



  • Generate accurate purchase orders and contracts in compliance with company policies and procedures



  • Monitor and track order status, expediting deliveries as needed to meet project timelines



  • Resolve issues and discrepancies with suppliers regarding pricing, quality, or delivery



  • Maintain positive supplier relationships and conduct supplier performance evaluations



  • Support continuous improvement in procurement processes and documentation




Job Requirements




  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or related field



  • 1-3 years of experience in purchasing, procurement, or a related role



  • Knowledge of procurement processes and best practices



  • Strong negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills



  • Attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and documentation



  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel



  • Ability to prioritize tasks and work effectively in a fast-paced environment




Preferred Skills




  • Experience with procurement software or ERP systems



  • Familiarity with contract management principles



  • Knowledge of supply chain logistics and inventory management



  • Professional certification in procurement or supply chain management (e.g., CSCP, CPSM)
