Buyer I Waukesha, WI Pay : $24.50 per hour 26-01791 Job Summary The Buyer I is responsible for procuring goods and services for the organization while ensuring cost-effectiveness, quality, and timely delivery. This role collaborates with internal stakeholders and external vendors to meet procurement needs and supports the organization's operational objectives through effective purchasing and supplier management. Job Responsibilities Review purchase requisitions and requests to determine appropriate procurement methods Identify potential suppliers and solicit bids or quotations for goods and services Evaluate supplier proposals and negotiate terms, pricing, and contracts to achieve the best value Generate accurate purchase orders and contracts in compliance with company policies and procedures Monitor and track order status, expediting deliveries as needed to meet project timelines Resolve issues and discrepancies with suppliers regarding pricing, quality, or delivery Maintain positive supplier relationships and conduct supplier performance evaluations Support continuous improvement in procurement processes and documentation Job Requirements Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or related field 1-3 years of experience in purchasing, procurement, or a related role Knowledge of procurement processes and best practices Strong negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills Attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and documentation Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel Ability to prioritize tasks and work effectively in a fast-paced environment Preferred Skills Experience with procurement software or ERP systems Familiarity with contract management principles Knowledge of supply chain logistics and inventory management Professional certification in procurement or supply chain management (e.g., CSCP, CPSM) #ZR
