Job Title: Recruiter (Entry-Level - Construction Recruiting Focus)

Position Summary

The Recruiter (Entry-Level - Construction Recruiting Focus) supports recruiting and core HR functions for both field and office employees within a fast-paced construction environment. This role is ideal for a recent college graduate seeking to launch a career in Human Resources while gaining exposure to skilled trades recruiting, workforce planning, and HR operations.

This position plays a key role in helping the company attract, hire, and onboard craft professionals, project managers, and corporate staff to support ongoing and upcoming projects.

Key Responsibilities

Recruitment & Talent Acquisition (Primary Focus)




  • Assist with full-cycle recruiting for field positions (laborers, equipment operators, carpenters, electricians, etc.) and office staff.





  • Post job openings on job boards, trade-specific platforms, and local workforce networks.





  • Screen resumes and conduct initial phone interviews.





  • Coordinate interviews between candidates and managers.





  • Support hiring for high-volume and project-based staffing needs.





  • Help organize and attend career fairs, trade school events, and community hiring events.





  • Maintain candidate records in the Applicant Tracking System (ATS).





  • Track recruiting metrics such as time-to-fill and applicant flow.





  • Support workforce planning efforts aligned with project timelines.




Onboarding & Field Employee Support




  • Assist with new hire onboarding for both field and office employees.





  • Ensure completion of required employment documentation (I-9, W-4, certifications, licenses).





  • Verify trade certifications, safety credentials, and other job-specific requirements.





  • Coordinate pre-employment screenings (background checks, drug testing).





  • Support new hire orientation and safety training schedule.




HR Operations & Compliance




  • Maintain accurate employee records in HRIS systems.





  • Disseminate daily performance logs to crew members,





  • Assist with benefits enrollment and employee inquiries.




Employee Relations & Engagement




  • Serve as an initial point of contact for employee HR questions.





  • Support employee engagement initiatives across job sites and office locations.





  • Assist with performance review tracking and documentation.





  • Provide administrative support for HR projects and workforce initiatives.




Qualifications




  • Bachelor's degree in human resources preferred or related field.





  • 0-3 years of recruiting experience (construction industry or high-volume hiring preferred).





  • Strong organizational and communication skills.





  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.





  • Comfortable interacting with all levels of employees (field, job site and leadership).





  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office or Google Workspace.





  • Willingness to occasionally visit job sites.
