Position Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and collaborative Business Analyst to support MMIS (Medicaid Management Information System) Operations. Reporting to the Medicaid Systems Operations Manager, this role will serve as a key liaison between business stakeholders and IT teams, ensuring operational efficiency, accurate reporting, and effective system support.

The ideal candidate will bring experience in Medicaid systems, strong analytical skills, and the ability to translate business needs into technical solutions.


Key Responsibilities


  • Serve as a liaison between business programs and IT to deliver technical solutions that meet user needs



  • Develop, retrieve, and distribute reports and datasets for internal and external stakeholders to support monitoring, reconciliation, and operational processes



  • Provide operational support for MMIS legacy systems and subsystems



  • Respond to stakeholder inquiries, monitor vendor requests, and coordinate between business and technical teams



  • Identify trends, risks, and issues, escalating to program management as needed



  • Translate business needs into system requirements and technical documentation



  • Act as a subject matter expert on MMIS processes, content, and procedures



  • Support and coordinate the Data Match process for provider eligibility requests



  • Perform and document User Acceptance Testing (UAT); review QA/UAT results and track defects through resolution



  • Analyze and document business processes and recommend improvements



  • Proactively identify risks, issues, and action items, contributing to solutions



  • Collaborate with vendors, government agencies, providers, and internal stakeholders



  • Prepare and deliver clear, concise status and operational reports



  • Participate in ongoing professional development



  • Perform additional duties and project-related tasks as assigned




Required Qualifications


  • Bachelor's degree in a technical, business, or healthcare-related field

    (4+ years of relevant experience in business/systems analysis or systems development may be substituted)



  • 1+ years of experience supporting MMIS legacy systems in a business analyst or similar role



  • 1+ years of experience working with Medicaid claims and provider operations



  • 1+ years of experience with Medicaid eligibility and/or enrollment systems in an operational capacity



  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Jira, Footprints, and SharePoint




Preferred Qualifications


  • Subject matter expertise in MMIS Operations



  • Experience with data analysis tools such as SAS, Excel, and data visualization software



  • Familiarity with statistical analysis tools and techniques




Additional Skills


  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain moderately complex technical concepts clearly



  • Experience working in cross-functional team environments



  • Ability to effectively communicate with technical teams, stakeholders, and vendors



  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills



  • Experience preparing clear and concise status and operational reports
