We are seeking one experienced Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to support advanced automotive development within a highly respected global research and development environment supporting cutting-edge mobility innovation.

This role is ideal for a mechanical engineer who thrives in automotive product development, understands full lifecycle design from concept through mass production, and can confidently lead technical initiatives across multiple projects.

Hours & Pay

Monday - Friday | Standard business hours

$48.00 - $51.00 per hour

What You'll Do



  • Design 3D models and 2D drawings of automotive electrical components, including vision systems, radar, safety sensors, control units, and mounting brackets
  • Lead product development from initial concept through prototyping, validation, and mass production
  • Perform design feasibility studies, cost analysis, strength calculations, and part specification development
  • Execute tolerance stack-up analysis and optimize part design for function, cost, and weight
  • Utilize CATIA V5 and V6, VPM Navi, and digital mockup (SPA) tools
  • Apply advanced surfacing, meshing, FEA, CAE, sheet metal design, and draft analysis techniques
  • Coordinate prototyping, fabrication, and manufacturing activities across cross-functional teams
  • Support sheet metal forming, stamping, welding, injection molding, and process control initiatives
  • Manage multiple technical projects simultaneously while meeting aggressive development timelines
  • Demonstrate leadership by guiding engineering decisions and driving technical project objectives



What You Bring



  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • Master's degree with 5+ years of experience or Bachelor's degree with 8+ years of experience
  • Proven experience designing automotive electrical components within a production environment
  • Strong background in automotive engineering, mechanical design, and product development
  • Advanced knowledge of CATIA V5/V6 and Honda drawing standards
  • Expertise in tolerance stack-up, part construction, and manufacturing feasibility
  • Experience with FEA, CAE, digital mockup validation, and advanced surfacing
  • Demonstrated project management skills with the ability to lead multiple engineering programs
  • Strong leadership capability and technical decision-making confidence



Physical & Work Requirements



  • Ability to bend, crouch, reach, stoop, stand, and walk at a moderately strong activity level
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 25 lbs regularly
  • Ability to operate and drive a vehicle as needed
  • No exposure to combustible liquids, compressed gases, flammable gases, or extreme temperatures
