Position Summary

The Program Coordinator provides analytical, research, data, & operational support to facilitate ongoing New York State Education Department (NYSED) & multi-state authorization compliance for all NYU programs. Serves as a dedicated service resource and first-line point of contact for school liaisons and program proposers, providing high-touch guidance to ensure a smooth, user-friendly experience with authorization initiatives. Serves as a reliable subject expert and thought partner on New York state and Multi-state authorization policies and procedures. Maintains internal systems and databases to support the NYSED and Multi-state portfolio, with a focus on ensuring data integrity for university-wide reporting. Collaborates within the team as a functional steward for Courseleaf CIM to support academic program proposals and regulatory reviews by guiding schools on system functionality, leveraging data to improve service delivery, and partnering with the senior leader to refine technology-enabled processes. Reviews NYSED proposals and provides consultative, developmental feedback to assist departments in navigating established criteria; partners with schools and university stakeholders to monitor important deadlines for Multi-State compliance, coordinating with schools and university stakeholders to support ongoing membership in NC-SARA. Supports the annual multi-state compliance cycle, drafting user-centric communications to schools, researching emergent questions, and escalating sensitive concerns as appropriate. Drafts communications, summary data reports, data visualizations, modern, design-oriented presentation decks, website content, and other materials designed to demystify complex regulations for internal and external audiences. Demonstrate a commitment to using appropriate technology & software to maintain data accuracy and tracking across the entire authorization portfolio. Acts as a proactive consultant to improve how the authorization team supports schools in their mission for academic excellence and innovation through capacity building activities, training, online resources, process improvement, etc. Plays a significant role in supporting the academic mission of the university by empowering schools to successfully launch new programs, revise programs, and conduct online and non-classroom experiences outside New York state.



Qualifications

Required Education:
Bachelor's Degree in fields related to social sciences, policy, management, higher education, law, or others with appropriate experience and skills.

Preferred Education:
Master's Degree in fields related to social sciences, policy, management, higher education, law, or others with appropriate experience and skills.

Required Experience:
3+ years experience directly supporting processes and systems for compliance with regulatory requirements within a large, complex organization or established record evidencing ability to master and implement complex policy subject expertise within an organizational setting.

Preferred Experience:
3+ years experience with responsibility for managing state-level academic authorization for a program or school within higher education; and 3+ years experience supporting or managing multi-state authorization/NC-SARA membership within a higher education setting.

Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Strong familiarity with the state authorization landscape and implications for institutions in higher education (or significant interest to master new knowledge in these areas). Significant service-orientation, passionate about applying skills, expertise, and knowledge to help school leaders navigate the authorization landscape to achieve their academic goals. Detail-oriented with demonstrated ability to independently conduct comprehensive, thorough reviews of complex documents and data, identifying issues relative to established criteria and summarizing in accessible manner action necessary to rectify identified problems. Strong oral and written communicator, with ability to exercise judgment to appropriately escalate sensitive issues. Excellent project management and organizational skills with ability to juggle, track, and follow through on active portfolio. Ability to follow established workflow in a busy setting, collaborating with multidisciplinary stakeholders. Takes on a self-starter approach to discover answers to questions and to generate suggested solutions for complex issues. Must be comfortable with a digital, paper-free operation, using technology, software, databases, and online tools to perform work. Excellent technological and analytical skills, including an advanced knowledge of Excel, Google Applications, Tableau, database management, data visualizations, reporting, and information management. Strong design orientation with ability to manipulate data to produce data visualizations and graphics tailored to the audience. Creates modern, clear, accessible decks tailored to audience, summarizing information and data to effectively tell a story. Demonstrated flexibility in work style, demonstrated ability to adapt successfully to changing work environment and needs. Strong interpersonal skills to manage relationships with senior leaders and internal and external stakeholders. Action oriented, performance driven and able to thrive in an environment with significant trust and accountability.

Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Advanced skills with Tableau, Python, R, and other statistical packages; Expert level knowledge of Asana or other project management tools.



Additional Information

In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is USD $85,000.00 to USD $105,000.00. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as, market and organizational considerations when extending an offer. This pay range represents base pay only and excludes any additional items such as incentives, bonuses, clinical compensation, or other items.
