Job Summary: The Director of Nursing Simulation will be responsible for planning, organizing and directing the instructional and administrative activities of the NEIU Nursing Simulation Center to support the educational and clinical experiences of students in the MSNEP program. Specific responsibilities include management and day to day delivery of simulation education. The Director will optimize the use of evidence-based simulation education and healthcare simulation standards for all students through the use of simulation pedagogy, curriculum design, assessment of student learning and professional formation.Additionally, this position requires exceptional communication with students, faculty, and healthcare professionals/partners to ensure all curriculum components are met. Using data driven approaches, the Director will establish and monitor processes to ensure the simulation learning environment meets accreditation and regulatory standards across all nursing pathways. The position reports directly to the Executive Director of the MSNEP program and requires a significant on-campus presence for classes, meetings, and other activities. Minimal Qualifications: 1. Bachelor's degree. 2. A total of three (3) years (36 months) in education, training and/or work experience in the area of specialization inherent to the position. (Note: Master's Degree in an area consistent with the duties of the position may be substituted for one (1) year of work experience. 3. Based on position requirements, additional education, training, and/or work experience in the area of specialization inherent to the position, may be required.
DEPARTMENTAL PREFERENCES
Hours: Hours may vary depending on departmental needs and may include days and evenings. (37.5 hour work week) Location: El Centro Campus (3390 N Avondale Ave, Chicago, IL 60618). Setting: In office, not eligible for remote work. This position requires a background check. Salary Range $85,000-95,000Benefits University employees may be eligible for a variety of State of Illinois benefits.
