The Assistant Nurse Director will be responsible for:
- Direct management and development of PCA staff (up to 70 FTEs). - Directing, planning, and coordinating the service activities and staffing performance of auxiliary nursing personnel in rendering quality patient care. - Ensuring the development, implementation, and evaluation of PCA staff onboarding, training, and education. - Providing ongoing coaching, mentorship, and performance feedback for PCA staff to support growth and accountability. - Ensures a positive work environment that is safe for patients, visitors, and staff. - Coordinating unit activities with other hospital departments of the hospital. - Developing and implementing PCA staffing plans to support safe and efficient care delivery. - Reviewing controlled substance reports and safety event reports, conducting appropriate follow-up and partnering with the Nurse Director to ensure compliance, risk mitigation, and continuous quality improvement. - Providing on-site leadership coverage for the Nurse Director team in their absence, ensuring continuity of operations, decision-making, and staff support. - Lead and participant in quality improvement projects and initiatives within the oncology service.
