Nature of Work: The University of Colorado College of Nursing is seeking a Certified Nurse-Midwife (CNM) or a Certified Midwife (CM) for a part-time (0.3-0.49 FTE) non-benefited position with its University Nurse Midwives (UNM) faculty practice in Aurora, CO (on the Anschutz Medical Campus) to provide antepartum, intrapartum, postpartum, wellness and gynecological care to a select population. This position will work full-scope, including late clinics, weekends and night shifts. Faculty Practice Description: UNM offers families many services including individualized care, group prenatal care, childbirth education, lactation services, behavioral health services, and referrals to specialty care within the University of Colorado and UCHealth systems. UNM provides full-scope midwifery care to individuals at the Anschutz Medical Campus and inpatient care to STRIDE clinic patients. UNM believes that families benefit from personalized and comprehensive care that focuses on the individual while including the family in the plan of care. The practice provides care to families from many countries and strives to offer culturally appropriate care. This position is a faculty appointment, and involvement in the College of Nursing is expected. The midwife will be part of a midwifery service that consists of 20 midwives and has a long and successful history within the University of Colorado system. Supervision Received: Work is performed independently under the general direction and authority of the UNM Clinical Lead Supervision Exercised: No supervision exercised Examples of Work Performed: * Provide full scope care to the gynecologic, antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum patient * Provide care in the outpatient clinic, OBED, and intrapartum unit * Utilize limited obstetric ultrasound skills in the outpatient and inpatient setting * Recommended attendance at monthly practice meetings and participate in a minimum of one-practice and/or College of Nursing committee. * Educate health care team students (APPs, medical students, residents) and actively participate in student evaluations * Participate in practice development, promotion and community outreach. * Active participation in health plan contracts. * Remain credentialed by the health plans and ensure credentialing materials stay current. * Performs other duties as assigned. Conditions of Employment: * Must be willing and able to obtain current AMCB certification by date of hire. * Must be willing and able to provide full scope contraceptive services and counseling on abortion services. * Must be willing and able to obtain Colorado RN, APN, RxN licenses or applicable certified midwife professional license by date of hire. * Must be willing and able to obtain current board certification as a midwife by date of hire * Must be willing and able to obtain current DEA license within 18 months of hire. * Must be willing and able to obtain valid NPI number by date of hire * Must be willing and able to obtain valid Colorado Medicaid Provider number by date of hire * Must be willing and able to complete CAQH and all credentialing requirements prior to by date of hire. * Must be willing and able to obtain current BLS/CPR certification by date of hire. * Must be willing and able to actively participate in health plan contracts. * Must be willing and able to remain credentialed by the health plans and ensure credentialing materials stay current. * Must be willing and able to work in a normal patient care environment with some exposure to biological hazards and infectious diseases. * Must be willing and able to work extra shifts if and when necessary to cover practice needs |
