Minimum Qualifications: Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire. This is an open rank position and could be categorized as Assistant Professor, or Associate Professor based on experience and qualifications as indicated below: Assistant Professor: * MD or DO * Board Certified or Board Eligible in Hospice and Palliative Medicine. * Minimum of 2 years of acute care and/or outpatient experience during fellowship or beyond. * Sustained clinical experience in pediatric palliative medicine. * Colorado license, DEA and BLS will be required prior to start date. Associate Professor: * MD or DO * Board Certified or Board Eligible in Hospice and Palliative Medicine. * Minimum 5 years of acute care and/or outpatient experience. * Sustained clinical experience in pediatric palliative medicine. * Colorado license, DEA and BLS will be required prior to start date. Conditions of Employment: * Must successfully pass a drug test through Children's Hospital Colorado. * Must be willing and able to pass a national criminal background check. * Must be willing and able to comply with all onboarding requirements. * Colorado license and DEA will be required prior to start date. Preferred Qualifications: * Comfortable working in high census academic setting. * Palliative Program Leadership * Experience in contributing to program growth in areas of outpatient care and community hospice care. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: * Knowledge of a variety of management of common pediatric and adolescent medical conditions, in the inpatient/outpatient and home-based hospice settings. * Skills in the effective delivery of healthcare via phone and telehealth services. * Strong spirit of collaboration and skills in working with an interdisciplinary team. * Wide spectrum of knowledge of pediatric disease, pediatric prognostication and pediatric pain/symptom management. * Highly skilled in empathic communication. * Experience and desire to educate on the principles of pediatric palliative care. * Superior organizational and prioritization skills, problem solving, and collaboration skills are necessary. * Expertise and training in history and physical examinations and determination of treatment plans necessary. |
