YOUR IMPACT The Policy & Documentation (P&D) team is seeking documentation professionals to negotiate a broad variety of trading and regulatory documentation for Prime Brokerage & Futures Clients. The candidate will ideally hold a legal qualification and have 5 or more years' experience in prime & futures trading documentation. OUR IMPACT The team is responsible for providing outstanding service by engaging with clients, understanding their trading activity/strategy. We handle all aspects of the relevant trading documentation negotiation and are therefore an essential component in the creation and maintenance of a trading relationship with a given client. PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead the end-to-end negotiation of a wide range of trading and operational agreements, including prime brokerage agreement, futures agreement, CDEA, ISDA/CSA, MCA and related regulatory initial margin documents.
- Review of legal opinions on netting and collateral enforceability including liaising with external counsel.
- Develop and execute bespoke negotiation strategies that balance client objectives with firmwide risk, legal and commercial considerations.
- Independently manage complex or sensitive negotiations with high profile institutional clients, ensuring effective communication, issue resolution and timely execution.
- Partner closely with the Prime business, in particular the New Business Group, to support client onboarding, new product approval and strategic business initiatives.
- Drive continuous improvement across documentation processes, policy and best practice including mentoring junior team members and leading training or knowledge sharing sessions.
- Provide clear, timely guidance to internal stakeholders-including trading, sales, client services, credit, treasury and operations-on master documentation queries and risk considerations.
- Identify control gaps, assess operational and legal risks, and propose pragmatic solutions to enhance process effectiveness and consistency across the documentation franchise.
- Build and maintain strong crossfunctional relationships to support strategic initiatives, consensus building, and the successful execution of complex client or regulatory requirements.
Preferred Experience and Skills:
- Bachelor's degree, JD or equivalent legal qualification, with at least five years' experience in a Legal or Trading Documentation role within Prime Brokerage, Futures, Derivatives, or a related function.
- Strong technical knowledge of key documentation types and legal entity structures, including funds, insurance companies, pension schemes, and alternative investment vehicles.
- Demonstrated ability to negotiate and review detailed legal documents with precision, commercial awareness, and strong attention to detail, particularly under time pressure.
- Ability to maintain consistency across large documentation portfolios and sound judgment on escalation points.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders and articulate legal and commercial issues clearly.
- High degree of motivation and ownership, with a genuine enthusiasm for developing deep expertise in Prime Brokerage and Futures documentation.
- Flexible, proactive, and able to navigate evolving priorities in a fastpaced trading environment.
- Strong commercial acumen and curiosity about Prime Brokerage and Futures products, client strategies, and market developments.
- Proficiency with internal systems, document management platforms and workflow tools, with the ability to adapt quickly to new technologies.
Salary Range
The expected base salary for this New York, New York, United States-based position is $100000-$235000. In addition, you may be eligible for a discretionary bonus if you are an active employee as of fiscal year-end. Benefits
