Application Window Open date: March 3, 2026 Next review date: Wednesday, Mar 18, 2026 at 11:59pm (Pacific Time) Final date: Friday, Sep 3, 2027 at 11:59pm (Pacific Time) Position description Academic Administrator (Levels 1-4) The UCSF Department of Orthopaedic Surgery is recruiting an Academic Administrator (Levels 1-4) to serve as Associate Director of Research / Research Program Lead for the Computational Orthopaedics & Surgical Innovation (COSI) Lab led by Professor Stefano A. Bini, MD. The successful candidate will provide scientific, operational, and programmatic leadership for a highly collaborative and largely virtual research program led by Professor Bini. This individual will be responsible for orchestrating lab infrastructure, supervising student researchers, and ensuring that research projects progress efficiently from concept to publication. Clinical duties are not associated with this role. The selected individual will play an integral role in advancing the Department's research mission through the COSI lab. This is not a traditional bench-based postdoctoral position. The emphasis of the role is research program leadership, supervision, digital infrastructure development, and workflow optimization. The Principal Investigator will retain the PI role on grants; the selected candidate may contribute to grant development and may serve as first author on manuscripts as appropriate. This is a part-time appointment designed to provide strategic oversight and coordination of the COSI Lab's research portfolio. Ideal candidates will demonstrate strong organizational skills, technological fluency, experience managing multiple concurrent research projects, and a proven ability to independently lead research initiatives and teams in decentralized or virtual environments.
