Job Description




As a Security Officer - Flex Facility Patrol in Washington, DC, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Tech/Media/Telecom, and more. Learn more: aus.com/earnmore. As a Patrol Officer with Allied Universal at a tech and media location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas to help maintain a welcoming environment. You will conduct routine patrols, remain highly visible to help discourage security-related incidents, and support access control processes as needed. You will also deliver strong customer service and clear communication while documenting observations and reporting concerns to the site team with integrity and teamwork.

What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to staff, tenants, and/or visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a tech and media location.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including receiving reports, gathering basic details, and routing concerns to site leadership and/or emergency services as needed.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of interior and exterior areas, including offices, studios, common areas, parking areas, and the perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or policy violations.
  • Control access at designated entry points by checking identification and/or credentials, monitoring visitor sign-in, and directing deliveries to approved drop-off locations per site requirements.
  • Complete detailed reports of patrols, incidents, and observations, and communicate status updates via radio and/or phone while supporting additional security-related tasks as assigned by Allied Universal and site management.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Access Control/Badge Experience is preferred.
  • Customer Service Experience is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
