Description

Salary range is $21.63/hour to $54.32/hour with a midpoint of $37.02/hour. New hires typically receive between minimum and midpoint, however, we may go slightly higher based on experience, internal equity and market.

GENERAL PURPOSE:

Under general supervision of Field Activity management, performs technical and administrative functions in support of the Field Activity Specialist Team (FAST). The incumbent will assist in a wide range of administrative support activities such as processing and onboarding new team members, maintaining work unit calendars for tracking special sports and community events, scheduling, collecting data, preparing reports, providing administrative support to team training programs, and facilitating and coordinating FAST staffing plans in coordination with contract security and other public safety and service delivery entities within the organization. Provides day-to-day support to internal public safety staff including training administration, external vendors, and performance management. Will provide day to day coordination for the FAST program and any other special projects/programs assigned; and provide information and assistance to the general public.

This position will specifically focus on:



  • Tracking, scheduling and planning for known special events and service disruptions
  • Supporting FAST training, scheduling and adjustments
  • Coordination with other Public Safety and Passenger Success internal partners
  • Shared calendar maintenance
  • Scheduling and coordination of internal and external training, meetings and interviews
  • Monitoring staff schedules, payable hours, holidays, and overtime.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

The following duties are a representative summary of the primary duties and responsibilities. Incumbent(s) may not be required to perform all duties listed and may be required to perform additional, position-specific duties.



  • Provides overall administrative, logistics support and coordination for the FAST program.
  • Supports business management functions related to the FAST program, including budget, uniform and equipment logistics, NRV management; to include participation in online databases, processes, and dashboards.
  • Supports FAST with tracking and scheduling related to public events impacting transit, administrative tasks such as scheduling, tracking training, assisting the FAST training program; scheduling and administering training for team members, contract staff, and other Sound Transit stakeholders.
  • Conducts routine administrative tasks such as document preparation, editing, printing, and collating materials
  • Assists with administrative aspects of the FAST training program, such as scheduling, updating training records, and preparing training materials.
  • Gathers and prepares reports on FAST operational activities and security related incidents.
  • Gathers FAST performance data and prepares reports for review by FAST and agency management.
  • Coordinates the inventory and delivery of agency equipment in locations throughout the transit system's tri-county operating area.
  • Cultivates strong relationships throughout Public Safety and Passenger Success to support FAST and safety and security at Sound Transit.
  • Exhibits strong customer focus and keeps all stakeholders informed of progress on tasks and projects on a regular basis.
  • Supports FAST hiring efforts with HR liaison and interview scheduling and documentation.
  • Champions and models Sound Transit's core values and demonstrates values-based behaviors in everyday interactions across the agency.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education and Experience: Associate's degree in Business Administration or closely relevant field. Three years of experience in administration in a transit, security, or public safety organization, as well as in project coordination, program support and data management; Or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Competence with standard office/administrative software such as Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point), Teams, etc.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to complete assigned tasks with a focus on timeliness and quality.
  • Ability to speak in public, in front of small to medium sized crowds.
  • Knowledge of basic safety, security, and criminal justice concepts.

Preferred Knowledge and Skills:



  • Direct knowledge of community engagement/liaison tactics and practices such as community policing, school resource officer, or similar civilian function.


Physical Demands / Work Environment:



  • Work is mainly performed in a standard hybrid office environment.
  • This role is responsible for various types of administrative tasks; May be subject to bending, hearing, kneeling, pushing, pulling, reaching, repetitive motion, talking, vision, and carrying and lifting up to 25 pounds.
