Group/Division

The Semiconductor Process Control (Semi PC) business unit designs, builds, sells and supports a comprehensive product portfolio that ensures high-quality production of the chips that power the technologies of today and the future, including AI, data centers, automotive and electronic devices. Semi PC's differentiated inspection, metrology and data analytic systems discover, characterize and monitor the defects and variations that can affect manufacturing processes across the semiconductor ecosystem, including high-performance logic chips, advanced memory chips, specialty semiconductors, wafers, reticles, advanced packaging, process equipment and materials. Semi PC solves our customers' most critical challenges through a combination of innovative technologies, close collaborations, and a dynamic, global team. Job Description/Preferred Qualifications

Position Description

KLA seeks a high-energy sales manager with extensive sales experience in surface metrology, optical instruments and/or test systems to join the fast-growing KLA Instruments Division. As part of the US Benchtop Instruments sales organization, this role will manage sales activities directly in the field and in conjunction with channel partners within the defined territory in the Eastern US. The product portfolio includes stylus profilers, 3D optical microscopes, nano-indenters, thin-film measurement reflectometers, and sheet resistance measurement tools. The successful candidate will have a proven track record in exceeding quotas consistently while selling complex solutions to scientists and engineers.

Responsible for meeting bookings targets along with execution of the growth strategy for the territory including new account development, expansion of existing customer accounts and developing new business opportunities.

Responsibilities include forming long-term relationships with customers and overseeing sales activities in academic research, government labs and industrial markets including semiconductor, microelectronics and biotech segments. Work to satisfy customers' needs and respond to their requests in a timely manner with a focus on delivering a positive customer experience that exceeds expectations. Partner with Business Units, Inside Sales, Applications and Marketing teams to prospect for sales leads and drive opportunities to close efficiently through the sales funnel.

Key Responsibilities

  • Meet or exceed all quarterly and annual sales objectives for assigned geographical area
  • Prospect for leads and maintain a significant opportunity pipeline to assure on-going growth
  • Develop and execute strategic and tactical sales plans to achieve short/long term objectives
  • Develop detailed knowledge of customers within the region who are typically scientists doing materials research in academic universities, government research labs or industrial research/QA-QC labs.
  • Provide timely information on competitive activities within the region and overall marketplace
  • Monitor sales metrics and maintain complete activity records on CRM platform
  • Provide 'Voice of the Customer' input for product development/improvement on a continuous basis
  • Deliver accurate product sales forecasts through close management of sales opportunities
  • Travel requirements up to 25-50% of the work time.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years' experience in direct sales of analytical instrumentation or test systems
  • Sales or Applications experience preferred in optical metrology, nanoindentation or thin film metrology
  • Ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team to achieve shared goals with an understanding of sales performance metrics
  • Ability to deliver effective technical presentations and product demonstrations to customers
  • Result-oriented with excellent problem-solving skills along with attention to detail
  • Strong written and verbal communication along with accomplished digital literacy
  • Experience with Miller Heiman or Conceptual Sales techniques and Salesforce CRM is a plus

Minimum Qualifications

Minimum BS degree in relevant science or engineering field.
