Job Summary

As an AI & Data AnalyticsInternwithin PACCAR Powertrain, you will contribute to real-world engineering projectsthat advance PACCAR's mission to deliver robust, scalable, and datadriven software solutions. Working alongsideexperienced engineers, you will enhance data pipelines, improve analytical tools, and support innovation across GlobalPACCAR Powertrain teams. Interns are fully integrated into team operations,participateincrossfunctionalmeetings,and present their project outcomes to peers and senior leaders-giving you visibility, meaningful responsibility, and theopportunity to make a lasting impact.

This role is based at thePACCAR Technical Center, a state-of-the-art research and engineering facility dedicated to emerging technologies including next generation powertrain systems, vehicle electrification, and autonomous driving advancements.

What to Expect

  • Schedule: Full-time (40 hours/week), in person
  • Duration: Minimum 12 weeks
  • Location: Mount Vernon, WA
  • Start Dates: May 18, 2026, or June 22, 2026

Job Responsibilities

  • Develop clean, functional code to implement new software features.
  • Utilize automated build and deployment tools to streamline software releases.
  • Utilize AI to identify increasing and decreasing warranty spending on powertrain components.
  • Work in unison with engineers to develop useful tools for understanding trending issues with the PACCAR engine.
  • Develop MATLAB functions and scripts to automate reporting for warranty systems.
  • Support continuous improvement efforts to enhance accuracy, consistency, and efficiency in documentation and development processes.

Qualifications

Required

  • Currently in junior or senior year of a bachelor's degree program (graduation 2026-2027) in Engineering (Computer, Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics), Science, other STEM fields, or related discipline.
  • Strong communication, analytical, and presentation skills.
  • Experience with scripting and data analysis (MATLAB).
  • Foundational knowledge of cloud platforms such as AWS, Snowflake, or Azure.
  • Familiarity with one or more programming languages: Python, C#/C++, Java, SQL.
  • Self-motivated team player with the ability to manage workload and deadlines effectively.

Preferred

  • Basic understanding of the diesel internal combustion engine and its various components.
