Job Summary
Support of interdisciplinary archaeological and cultural heritage projects. Create 3D models and produce accurate digital reconstructions. Manage digital assets, maintain data integrity, and collaborate with researchers, curators, and technical teams to deliver high-quality digital humanities outputs that support research, education, and community outreach initiatives.
Minimum Education and Experience

Bachelor's degree in one of the basic sciences or an equivalent combination of education and experience in customer service or in daily interactions in a public services environment.

  • experience supporting interdisciplinary archaeological and cultural heritage projects
  • expertise in 3D modeling for archaeological research, including processing and interpreting LiDAR and photogrammetry datasets to produce accurate digital reconstructions
  • experience digitizing museum exhibits and artifacts for preservation, analysis, and public engagement
  • experience working on archaeological projects
  • knowledge of pre-Roman and Roman art and archaeology in Italy
  • proficient in use of Unity, Unreal Engine, and Blender to develop interactive visualizations and immersive environments
  • skilled in managing digital assets, maintaining data integrity, and collaborating with researchers, curators, and technical teams
  • familiarity with EODIAH research sites in Italy; prior participation strongly preferred

To the extent this position requires the holder to research, work on, or have access to critical infrastructure as defined in Section 117.001(2) of the Texas Business and Commerce Code, the ability to maintain the security or integrity of the critical infrastructure is a minimum qualification to be hired and to continue to be employed in the position.

Physical Demands and Working Conditions
Work Environment
This role requires regular work at an active outdoor dig site, with exposure to a wide range of weather conditions including heat, cold, wind, rain, dust, and uneven or unpaved terrain. Work may involve walking or standing for extended periods and carrying tools or equipment as needed. Appropriate personal protective equipment ( PPE) will be provided, and strict adherence to all site safety protocols is required.

Physical Requirements
Duties may involve lifting up to 50 pounds, working outdoors for extended periods, and performing physical tasks such as standing, walking, sitting, bending, kneeling, and crouching. The position may also require climbing short inclines, navigating rugged surfaces, and maintaining safety awareness in changing environmental conditions.

Work Hours & Schedule
This position is currently parttime and typically scheduled 20 hours per week. Actual hours may vary based on business needs. During summer months and peak operational periods, additional hours may be required, including occasional early mornings, evenings, or weekends. As the department continues to grow, the position may transition to a fulltime role in the future.
Travel Requirements
Work will be performed on-site and in person. This role requires international travel. Travel may occur during peak periods and may include overnight and multiday trips. The ability to obtain and maintain a valid passport is required.
