Responsibilities: This position will provide expert project management for large, complex and strategic multi-departmental projects. Direct various business area teams through definition, development, and implementation of critical processes and systems solutions. Coordinate and communicate among Executive Sponsors, Steering Committee, Project Team, and other stakeholders; Responsible for the successful completion of projects on time and within budget Some key responsibilities include:
- Partners with senior business management to educate them on project concepts and facilitate determining business implications and opportunities
- Directs various business area teams through definition, development, and implementation of critical processes.
- Coordinates and communicates among Executive Sponsors, Steering Committees, project teams and other stakeholders
- Manages large, complex, strategic enterprise wide projects utilizing multiple business resources. May manage multiple projects Plan.
- Manages, coaches, and mentors project managers and project staff. Lends expertise to internal teams and task forces.
- Manages day to day operational and tactical aspects of multiple or large scale projects.
- Oversees managers working on client engagements within practice. Lends expertise to internal teams and task forces.
- Reviews high level deliverables across projects. Reviews the status reports of team members across projects and addresses issues as appropriate.
- Implements engagement review and quality assurance procedures in accordance with PHS methodology to ensure successful execution of projects.
- Manages scope and minimizes exposure and risk across multiple projects.
- Easily recognizes areas for internal improvement and develops plans for implementation.
- Leads complex, cross-functional, strategic or business-critical projects and may partner with one or more IT or business project managers, holding overall accountability for assigned projects; may manage multiple, concurrent projects.
- roject teams may include resources from multiple units as well as vendors and service providers. Teams may frequently include remote team members.
- Ensure that project proposals are complete prior to going to Leadership for approval.
- Directs project through full lifecycle, including project initiation and requirements definition, planning, execution, monitoring, and project close.
- Reviews all contracts and statements of work for assigned project to validate that all legal and financial requirements are fulfilled before project execution; may work directly with Legal and/or Finance to resolve outstanding issues.
- Reviews approved proposals with Executive Sponsors, IT Business Partners, IT PM (if assigned) and other stakeholders to ensure that project is fully understood by all stakeholders. Works with leadership to adjust as needed.
- Partners with Executive Sponsors and business and technology stakeholders to define project/program governance structures and communication plans.
- Develops detailed project plans, including charter, scope, metrics, budget, timelines/schedules, risk management, progress reporting, and other elements as appropriate to the project.
- Provides accurate and timely reports on project progress, identifying risks and opportunities and escalating as appropriate.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Business, healthcare, or related field required.
- Masters preferred.
- Must hold current Project Management Institute (PMI) certification as a Project Management Professional (PMP) or must obtain certification within six months of employment.
- Minimum eight (8) years of project management data analysis or similar experience required, preferably in healthcare.
- At least five years directly managing medium to high complexity projects.
