Job Description

The On-Field Host/Emcee will perform pre-game and in-game at the ballpark. They will host live, interactive segments on camera to Warbirds fans in attendance. This role requires the ability to interact with fans, great public speaking ability, improvisational skills, and the ability to take quick direction. The ideal candidate should have extensive previous experience as a host, DJ, or personality through radio, TV, or live events.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Other duties may be assigned.

    Showcase high-energy personality with confidence and charisma to entertain Warbirds fans
  • Thorough pre-game preparation and rehearsal of features, scripts, and events
  • Execute live reads, promotional scripts, contest explanations, and sponsor announcements clearly and enthusiastically.
  • Conduct interviews with pre-game participants, contestants, special guests, fans, and players among others
  • Continuously search for creative ways to reinvent themselves while staying within the framework of their character
  • Interact with Warbirds personnel, including mascot(s), Flight Crew, and performers
  • Coordinate closely with the Promotions, Production, and Audio/Video teams to ensure smooth execution of all in-game elements
  • Develop an approachable, recognizable public personality that can be utilized to engage and promote interaction with fans and enhance the overall fan experience at the ballpark

Qualifications To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

  • Strong on-camera or live performance experience (hosting, emceeing, broadcasting, or acting preferred)
  • Comfort speaking into a microphone in front of large crowds and working in loud, fast-moving, and high-pressure environments
  • Enjoys and demonstrates a passion for being a part of the Warbirds organization and for the sport of baseball
  • Competent knowledge of baseball and the Warbirds organization
  • Possesses a voice that commands attention and delivers assigned messages with impact
  • Ability to comprehend scripts and adapt quickly to changes
  • Ability to consistently uphold the organization's values by representing the company professionally both in the workplace and within the community

Education and/or Experience

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); Previous experience as a host or emcee in various capacities preferred.

Work Hours

Hours vary according to the game and event schedule, which will include weekends and some holidays.

Must have availability to work most games and special events. Must be available to arrive up to 1.5 hours prior to game time.
