What to Expect

We are looking for a highly skilled and motivatedSeniorMachine LearningEngineer tolead development of key AI features in Digital Twin and upscaleService Supply Chain Distribution strategies. You will be part of the Supply Chain Optimization team thatis managingstrategic projects and continuous improvement efforts for Tesla's Global Distribution Network. The role requires the ability to build strong cross-functional working relationships with Material Planning, Logistics, Finance, WarehouseOperationsand Service Operations teams.

You willrequirea sharp business focus, a collaborative style of working, and a proactive and critical mindset.

You need toacquiredeep subject matter knowledge about systems, sourcing, planningand fulfillment processes to build modelsthatdrive impactful business changes. It is essential thatyou canthink strategically, connect the dots in the bigger picture, as well as be comfortable in the details of the deliverables to drive operational improvements. The role is expected to simultaneously handle multiple projects of department-level scale and global reach.

What You'll Do
  • Build and deploy production-grade machine learning models and autonomous AI agents to enhance Digital Twin capabilities, integrating inbound, outbound, logistics, warehouse operations, and network constraints to accurately reflect real-world systems and enable near-real-time decision support

  • Architect, own, andoperateend-to-endproductionML pipelines, including CI/CD, model versioning, and orchestration, to ensure scalable, modular, reliable, and high-performance systems

  • Design and implement intelligent agent capabilities such as intent detection, contextual state management, troubleshooting decision logic, and automated action-routing workflows

  • Optimizemulti-agent architectures to improve response accuracy, reduce latency, and support enterprise-scale throughput and reliability

  • Design, implement, and continuously improve a robust AI agent evaluation framework to measure quality, performance, and business impact

  • Build and execute large-scale what-if simulations and sensitivity/stress tests across the service network to evaluate distribution strategies, quantify impacts on cost, service levels, and DC operations, identifybottlenecks and resiliency gaps, and translate insights into actionable improvement recommendations

  • Design andoptimizeinbound vehicle routing strategies, including milk runs and multi-stop route designs, with a deep understanding of material loading patterns, vehicle capacity constraints, stop sequencing, and driving distances

  • Translate complex quantitative results into clear narratives and visualizations, enabling leadership to make informed tradeoffs between cost, service, and operational complexity in the inbound network

What You'll Bring
  • Degree in Computer Science, AI, Applied Math, Operations Research, or related field, or equivalent experience

  • Strong foundationin mathematics, algorithms, and optimization techniques

  • Proven hands-on experience designing, deploying, and scaling enterprise-grade AI/ML solutions, including building production-ready models, embedding them into business workflows, and ensuring reliability, performance, and scalability in real-world environments

  • Deepexpertisein large language models, autonomous AI agents, prompt engineering, and modern AI frameworks such asLangChainandLlamaIndex

  • Strong programmingproficiencyin Python and SQL, with experience using libraries such as NumPy, pandas, scikit-learn, TensorFlow, andPyTorch

  • Experience solving complex routing and optimization problems using OR-Tools, including vehicle routing problems (VRP) with time windows, capacity constraints, and multi-stop routing scenarios.
