Job Description

Elwyn seeks a Director of Program Supports to provide day to day support for Elwyn New Jersey's Adult Intellectual and Developmental Disability (IDD) Services programs including Adult Day Services, Supported Employment Services, and residential services provided through the Community Living Program. The Director of Program Supports also supports any assigned projects or tasks as requested by the Senior Vice President, IDD Services and/or Executive Director of New Jersey, or other Executive or designee, to ensure and promote customer satisfaction and the interests of Elwyn New Jersey.

$75k-$80k, negotiable

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work in partnership with the Operations Leadership team to ensure service delivery

    consistently meets quality, compliance, and regulatory standard

  • Front facing liasion with all Elwyn support departments to include but not limited to Quality Improvement, Risk Management, Human Resources, Training and Development, Admissions, Shared Services, EHR/Billing

  • Supervise Program Specialists and ensure adherence to assigned duties and performance expectations * Work collaboratively with the New Jersey State Department of Human Services' Division of Developmental Disabilities, New Jersey Office of Licensing and all external stakeholders to ensure compliant and effective service delivery

  • Identify and recommend programmatic changes to strengthen quality, compliance, and outcomes, and take the lead in executing initiatives to implement improvements

  • Collect, track, and maintain data related to Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and Plans of Correction (POCs) in coordination with the Elwyn New Jersey Quality Improvement Department

  • Collect, review and assess all information required by Elwyn New Jersey policy and state and federal regulations

  • Escalate significant risks or compliance concerns to executive leadership.

  • Monitor employee training records in collaboration with the Training Department to ensure full compliance

  • Provide specific program support in collaboration with the Senior Director, Regional Director and/or Operations Manager as identified needed

  • Provide and coordinate technical/professional support to the operational, behavioral and/or medical teams and train new Program Specialists (PSs) and Operations Managers (OM's)

  • Represent the organization at professional conferences, seminars and other public events, and work with other service organizations engaged in placement activities to generate interest, share information and describe opportunities available in Elwyn New Jersey programs

  • Participate with the full management team in new development of services and special projects

  • Coordinate projects involving interagency relationships and establish annual and departmental admissions objectives

  • Maintains current state-mandated training and certifications

  • Follows all current policies and procedures of Elwyn New Jersey

  • Works with, understands, and complies with terms and conditions of collective bargaining agreements (CBA) within a unionized environment within the scope of the performance of the Admissions Department

  • Cooperates with Elwyn New Jersey and the State of New Jersey Department of Human Services, or any other authorized investigating body during an inspection, inquiry, or investigation

  • Perform other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Seven (7) years' experience in human services; experience working with individuals with

    developmental disabilities

  • Two (2) years' experience in quality assurance, utilization review, billing, or related area preferred

  • Non-profit human service experience highly preferred

  • Working knowledge of funding source operations preferred

  • Demonstrated strong understanding of admissions planning and coordination services

  • Knowledge and experience in Community-based residential and adult day and supported employment program settings preferred

  • Previous experience in state and government contracts preferred

  • Demonstrated strong organizational and prioritization skills

  • Demonstrated ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment

  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a team and to lead teams

  • Knowledge of State of New Jersey, Department of Human Services/Division of Developmental Disabilities community and residential services regulations

  • Knowledge of applicable federal and State of New Jersey, Department of Human Services, Division of Developmental Disabilities governing bodies and regulations, including but not limited to those regulating and licensing Adult Day, Supported Employments, and Community Living Programs, such as Community Care Policy and Procedures and the New Jersey Developmental Disabilities Day Habilitation Services Compliance preferred

  • Working knowledge of International Classification of Diseases (ICD)-10 and Current Procedural Terminology (CPT) codes

  • Working knowledge of funding source operations preferred

  • Ability to work independently

  • Must possess excellent customer interaction, collaboration, presentation, and written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage and prioritize multiple, often competing, priorities

  • Demonstrated strong attention to detail

  • Demonstrated excellent judgment with the ability to independently solve problems and make decisions with little or no need for direct supervision

  • Demonstrated ability to anticipate future needed changes or identify problem areas and take effective actions

  • Demonstrated intermediate experience with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook; PowerPoint and report-writer experience preferred

  • Experience using/knowledge of Electronic Health Record (EHR) / Electronic Medical Record (EMR) preferred

  • Must submit to a criminal background check and drug test and be determined to be not disqualified by the New Jersey Department of Human Services prior to working with individuals served

  • Must agree to have their name checked against the New Jersey Central Registry of Offenders Against Individuals with Developmental Disabilities and NJ Child Abuse Registry (CARI).
