Staff Mechanical Engineer Job Description: MRIGlobal has a full-time opportunity for a Staff Mechanical Engineer in Kansas City, MO. In this unique opportunity, the selected candidate will work with other engineering and technical disciplines in the design, prototyping, and testing of custom systems to meet customer requirements. Furthermore, the selected candidate will: Design a broad range of mechanical systems to support commercial and government projects. Develop and conduct experiments to analyze existing designs and products. Perform mechanical engineering design work on multidisciplinary teams with mechanical, electrical, chemical and systems engineers. Act as engineering lead for smaller projects or task lead for larger projects. Communicate with clients, project managers, and non-engineering technical staff to define project requirements and deliverables. Provide preliminary design concepts and technical input to commercial and government project proposals. Required Qualifications: B.S. in Mechanical Engineering or related field plus 6 years' relevant experience; advanced degrees/certifications can be used in lieu of experience. Proficient with CAD software (e.g., SOLIDWORKS). Experience with research and development, and engineering design processes. Strong technical leadership. Mastery in Protocol Troubleshooting, Designing, and Optimization. Success Factors: Willingness to work in a laboratory or field environment. Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks simultaneously. Ability to learn new software systems. Ability to interpret project needs and define requirements from non-technical stakeholders. Good documentation and organizational skills. Available for periodic travel, estimated at 4-12 weeks per year. Desire to work with other team members to solve complex multidisciplinary challenges. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Pay Range $89,700 - $109,000 The salary range is intended as a general guideline and is not a guaranteed offer, as compensation depends on various factors such as scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate qualifications, experience, internal equity, and market conditions.
