About the Role

The Human Resources (HR) Internship offers a learning environment to explore Matson Navigation Inc., with meaningful HR-related projects. This is an opportunity to receive experience that requires professionalism, attention to detail, multi-tasking, as well as tactical responsibilities that will expose the intern to first-hand experiences of an HR professional.

What you'll do:

  • Support the team by maintaining employee personnel files and filing systems using our HRIS.
  • Compile data and prepare routine and special reports.
  • Participate in talent acquisition responsibilities (e.g., resume screening, and scheduling interviews).
  • Help coordinate employee engagement and company events.
  • Provide administrative support with department projects and initiatives on an as-needed basis.

You have these skills:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.).
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Strong commitment to confidentiality.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively.
  • Self-motivated with strong written and verbal communication skills.

And these qualifications:

  • Rising Junior or Senior in active pursuit of a Bachelor's degree.
  • Completion of coursework related to human resources preferred.
  • Minimum GPA of 3.0 or higher.
