The Eberly College of Arts and Sciences at West Virginia University is currently inviting applications for Part-time Adjunct Teaching Positions in the Department of Philosophy (https://philosophy.wvu.edu) and the Program for Religious Studies (https://religiousstudies.wvu.edu/).

Areas of need include, but are not limited to, Current Moral Issues; Introduction to World Religions; History and Practice of Christianity; and History and Practice of Islam.

The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching in-person or online courses in the Department of Philosophy or in the Program for Religious Studies. Generally, individuals with a doctoral degree are eligible to teach graduate or undergraduate courses; individuals with a master's degree are eligible to teach undergraduate courses.

Applications will be accepted throughout the year and will be considered as openings arise. Salary is established on a per-course basis.

Qualifications

Philosophy:

The positions for the Department of Philosophy require a master's or doctoral degree in Philosophy or a closely related discipline.

Program for Religious Studies:

The positions for the Program for Religious Studies require a master's or doctoral degree in Religious Studies or a closely related discipline.

For all positions, evidence of effective teaching at the undergraduate or graduate level is required.
