Deployment Technician - Overnight (Retail POS) Job Description The Deployment Technician is responsible for the overnight installation, deployment, maintenance, and support of pointofsale (POS) systems, registers, and lowvoltage cabling infrastructure at retail store locations. This role supports largescale retail technology deployments during night shifts to minimize disruption to store operations. Technicians will work independently or as part of a coordinated deployment team to ensure all hardware, cabling, and systems are properly installed, tested, and fully operational prior to store opening. The ideal candidate has strong technical aptitude, attention to detail, and experience working in retail technology environments. Responsibilities * Install, deploy, and support POS systems, registers, and peripheral devices * Run, terminate, and test lowvoltage cabling (Cat5/Cat6) * Perform overnight deployments in active retail environments * Validate system functionality and troubleshoot issues as needed * Follow deployment plans, store standards, and safety procedures * Document work completed and report issues to project leadership Required Skills * Deployment / field installation * Lowvoltage cabling * Cat5 / Cat6 * POS systems * Retail technology support Top Skills * Deployment * Cabling * Cat5 * Cat6 * Low Voltage * POS Technician * Retail Technology Additional Skills & Qualifications * Experience working in grocery or bigbox retail environments * Familiarity with enterprise retail technology deployments * Lowvoltage or telecommunications certifications (BICSI, ETA, or equivalent) * Experience using network testing tools and cable certification equipment Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Latham, NY. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $20.00 - $30.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
