What You'll Do

IronArch is seeking a Senior Data Analyst to lead the data analytics, metrics, and evaluation layer of MyHealtheVet (MHV) - one of VA's most widely used Veteran-facing platforms.

MyHealtheVet enables millions of Veterans to manage their health benefits online, including Secure Messaging with care teams, prescription management, appointments, and account services. This role directly supports modernization and sustainment of the Liferay portal that powers these experiences.

This role will serve as an individual contributor and coordinate with team members to support multiple teams building user-facing features on web and mobile platforms. This role will partner closely with the team delivery leads to implement standards and best practices, and work closely with stakeholders and the team to capture and deliver metrics.

Key Responsibilities

A Senior Data Analyst serves as an experienced individual contributor within a team, with the expectation that you will further develop your leadership, guidance and mentoring skills. With minimal oversight from leadership, you will be responsible for supporting the goal of meeting scope, schedule and delivery requirements. A Senior Data Analyst impacts the long-term goals of the program, while contributing to the development of the program's data strategy. You may serve as the discipline's primary lead when working with stakeholders and utilize strong influential skills to drive improvements in data analytics processes and practices. Primary expectations of a Senior Data Analyst include:

  • Extensive knowledge and experience with data visualization and reporting; with the ability to communicate best practices; understands and communicates UX implications associated with data visualization
  • Effective communicator with the ability to explain trends across data sources using statistical performance metrics to inform customer goals and outcomes
  • Leads efforts to analyze, manipulate, clean, and/or process large data sets using statistical software languages
  • Manages team working sessions, following and improving processes and workflows for maintaining high quality data and reporting
  • Delivers data analytics methodologies/improvements with minimal practice guidance and support
  • Collaborates with program teams on larger projects and mentors more junior team members
  • Leads the development of innovative solutions for most complex program problems, spots inconsistencies and edge cases
  • Effectively communicates data analytics issues and develops solutions with team members and external stakeholders
  • Able to interact at a technical level with closely adjacent data practices such as statistical modeling and data pipelines
  • Proactively identifies and leads investigations, working with stakeholders and team on scope and plan
  • Participates in technical interviews with new candidates and develops/grades homework
  • May lead small, less critical, or temporary team structures and projects
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree and 7+ years in a data role or equivalent
  • Demonstrated ability to capture metrics generated from a range of data sources, triangulate across data types (qualitative and quantitative), and synthesize meaning to provide an overall picture of usage, satisfaction, and behaviors
  • Demonstrates expert-level knowledge in SQL query skillsets, deep knowledge of Google Analytics and/or DataDog RUM (or ability to learn quickly)
  • Demonstrated dashboarding and reporting capabilities, including data visualization
  • Experience working in agile software development on a cross-functional team
  • Ability to navigate ambiguous requirements and environments to support delivery
  • Ability to identify risks and communicate to leadership, providing recommendations to mitigate identified risks
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to both the technical and non-technical audiences, as well as stakeholder engagement
  • Self-directed, proactive
  • Comfortable collaborating across a complex team structure and stakeholder environment
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance

Preferred Experience

  • Prior government contracting experience
