NDE AUDITOR/TRAINER II (STARSHIP)

The NDE Trainer is responsible for training driven by the fundamental belief that education and knowledge are power. A SpaceX NDE Trainer combines that belief with a strong sense of urgency, creativity, and resourcefulness, and loves opportunities for hands-on application. The ideal candidate brings applicable industry experience to the table and will be armed with strong communication skills and an innovative problem-solving ability.

RESPONSIBILITIES:



  • Create course materials, such as PowerPoints, student handouts, and tests for instructor-led programs with student assessments
  • Proctor exams, and conduct training modules (classroom and online) for production personnel on a variety of technical topics such as: NAS-410 Level I and II classroom training, certified welding inspection, manufacturing processes and technologies, specific equipment machine operation, processes and systems (e.g. workflow, QMS, safety, using software applications, etc.), and special assignments as needed
  • Engage with production management, engineering, quality, and subject matter experts to gather required technical information on complex manufacturing processes and technologies
  • Provide feedback as appropriate on manufacturing/processing methods and technologies

  • Develop policies, standards, processes, and documentation as necessary to ensure continued success
  • Interact between engineering and technicians when needed for 3rd party clarifications
  • Support the R&D department in technology development for operational improvement and optimization
  • Assist the responsible level III


BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:



  • High school diploma or equivalency certificate
  • 5+ years of experience working with NDE methodologies as a certified level II Inspector for at least 2 methods (visual, penetrant, computed radiography, ultrasonic-shear wave)


PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:



  • 1+ years of experience as a technical trainer conducting hands-on, instructor-led technical courses in a production environment
  • Level II certification in 2 or more surface methods (visual, penetrant, computed radiography, ultrasonic-shear wave)
  • Level III certification in one or more advanced methods (digital radiography, phased array, or eddy current)
  • Certified Welding Inspector (CWI)
  • Certified Welding Educator (CWE)
  • Experiencewith video editing and online training module development
  • Proficiency with enterprise resource planning (ERP) software
  • Skills to independently analyze, review, and research manufacturing processes and applicable standards
  • Excellent oral and written training/communication skills
  • Ability to demonstrate an in-depth understanding of aerospace NDE applications
  • Proficiency with the development of training programs and materials, including student assessments
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively engage management, engineering, quality, and subject matter experts to gather required technical information on complex manufacturing processes and technologies
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office
  • Demonstrated experience as a team-oriented self-starter, eager to meet and exceed objectives, with the ability to handle a multi-project environment
  • Ability to read engineering drawings


ITAR REQUIREMENTS:



  • To conform to U.S. Government export regulations, applicant must be a (i) U.S. citizen or national, (ii) U.S. lawful, permanent resident (aka green card holder), (iii) Refugee under 8 U.S.C. * 1157, or (iv) Asylee under 8 U.S.C. * 1158, or be eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.
