Red Seat Ventures, a division of FOX Corporation, is seeking a Technical Operations Manager to support production operations across its broadcasts and podcasts. This role primarily functions as a Technical Director while also serving as the operational backbone of production. The position is responsible for supporting control room and studio operations, managing production infrastructure, developing workflow strategy, and ensuring seamless live broadcast execution in a fast-paced environment.

The Technical Operations Manager will support switching daily broadcasts while also owning the reliability, scalability, and optimization of all technical systems, supporting both in-studio and remote productions. This role switches up to three in-studio cameras and as many as six simultaneous remote guest feeds, while seamlessly integrating soundbites, b-roll, graphics, and lower thirds on cue from the Executive Producer.

Beyond live execution, this position is responsible for overseeing end-to-end production workflows, supporting technical systems integration (NDI, Dante, remote feeds, routing), developing automation efficiencies, and ensuring consistent, high-quality, technically sound broadcasts. The Technical Operations Manager serves as a technical production partner to editorial leadership and plays a strategic role in evolving studio and control room capabilities as the show grows.

A SNAPSHOT OF YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Prepare, set up, and maintain all control room, studio, routing, and transmission equipment

  • Operate and live switch daily programs utilizing Tricaster, BlackMagic Atem, and/or vMIx systems

  • Trigger graphics, lower thirds, and visual elements during live production

  • Record and manage switched and ISO recordings for editing, archiving, and distribution

  • Manage remote guest feeds through vMix (vMix Call) and Zoom Rooms

  • Perform light audio mixing for host, guests, and audio tracks

  • Serve as the lead support for all technical aspects of live and recorded workflows

  • Troubleshoot technical issues in real time

  • Build and refine automated workflows and macros to enhance production efficiency and reliability

  • Support additional production-related initiatives and scaling efforts as needed

WHAT YOU WILL NEED

  • Expert knowledge of Newtek Tricaster, Blackmagic Design Atem, and vMix

  • 6+ years of experience in a live broadcast or live-streaming environment

  • 4+ years of experience as a Technical Director

  • Demonstrated experience managing end-to-end production operations and workflows

  • Strong expertise in audio mixing and vMix switching software

  • Knowledge of NDI, SRT, and Dante workflows

  • Advanced understanding of video formats, broadcast standards, and transmission workflows

  • Strong working knowledge of broadcast equipment including production switchers, video routers, graphics playback, automation, intercoms, live video over ip, and Zoom Rooms

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic production environment

  • Strong communication and leadership skills with the ability to collaborate cross-functionally within a small but high-performing team

NICE TO HAVE, BUT NOT A DEALBREAKER

  • Experience building automated switcher macros to streamline production workflows

  • Experience working in a small, high-output studio production team

Pursuant to state and local pay disclosure requirements, the pay rate/range for this role, with final offer amount dependent on education, skills, experience, and location is $102,000.00-115,000.00 annually. This role is also eligible for various benefits, including medical/dental/vision, insurance, a 401(k) plan, paid time off, and other benefits in accordance with applicable plan documents. Benefits for Union represented employees will be in accordance with the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
