YOUR IMPACT

As a Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) at OpenText, you will play a critical role in building, scaling, and maintaining highly reliable and resilient systems that power our global platforms. In this hands-on role, you will help deliver, administer, and manage OpenText's containerized infrastructure across both on-premises environments and public cloud platforms. Working alongside a growing team of technical experts, you will troubleshoot complex issues, strengthen system reliability, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure high service performance and exceptional customer experience. You will design, maintain, and optimize cloud and container-based solutions while applying industry best practices in infrastructure, deployment, and operations.

This role offers the opportunity to drive continuous improvement by enhancing monitoring and observability, identifying security vulnerabilities, and optimizing system performance. The ideal candidate brings strong expertise in container technologies, cloud platforms, and modern infrastructure practices to help build scalable and future-ready systems.

WHAT THE ROLE OFFERS

  • Running and supporting applications on containerized infrastructure across private datacenters and public cloud platforms.
  • Planning, testing, and implementing monitoring, alerting, and observability for containerized services.
  • We are shifting from event-based to proactive, log-based monitoring, and deep experience here is highly appreciated. Deploying, managing,and optimizing container security solutions (e.g., Prisma Cloud /RedLock / Twistlock).
  • Building automation and security solutions that enable DevSecOps CI/CD pipelines.
  • Working with core cloud-native technologies: Kubernetes, Docker,GitOps, CI/CD, IaC, PaaS.
  • Operating and designing solutions across hyperscalers: GCP, AWS,Azure.
  • GKE/AKS/EKS knowledge
  • On prem orchestrators like Tanzu and Anthos.
  • Creating and maintaining standards, policies, procedures, and best-practice documentation. Automating workflows to align with ITIL, compliance, and internal change management processes.
  • Leading platform initiatives, influencing engineering practices,and mentoring engineers.

WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field; AWS or GCP certifications preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in software engineering, SRE, or cloud operations focused on cloud and container platforms.
  • Strong experience with Kubernetes across multiple distributions (kubeadm, GKE, EKS, BOSH CFCR, Cluster-API, or similar enterprise platforms).
  • Hands-on experience with GitOps tools such as ArgoCD, GitLab CD, ACM, Tekton, or similar technologies.
  • Proven expertise in infrastructure automation and Infrastructure as Code using Terraform and Ansible.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell; Go experience is a plus.
  • Experience with virtualization and enterprise storage technologies (e.g., VMware, OpenStack, NetApp).
  • Strong experience working in Linux environments and designing DevOps toolchains in large enterprise organizations.
  • Experience with multi-cluster or multi-cloud networking, service mesh technologies (Istio, Linkerd), and policy-as-code frameworks (OPA/Gatekeeper, Kyverno).
  • Familiarity with cloud cost optimization (FinOps), security and compliance practices, backup/disaster recovery tools (Velero, Restic), and operating Kubernetes operators or custom CRDs, along with strong communication skills across technical and non-technical teams.

Compensation: At OpenText, we offer a thoughtfully designed benefits package that supports your physical, emotional, and financial wellbeing. As you move through the hiring process, we're happy to provide more details about our compensation programs, including variable and commission compensation opportunities for eligible roles, vacation entitlement, and paid time off.

Salary Range: $125,440 -$190,000; Depending on the candidate's education, experience, skills, geographical location, and alignment with internal equity and external market, actual salary may vary and be higher or lower than the range posted.
