POSITION SUMMARY:

The Community Liaison directly serves as the liaison between the facility, the community, and referring agencies. The Community Liaison is directly responsible for creating demand for the facility's services through the effective application of ethical marketing principles and sales methods.

In collaboration with the Director of Business Development and Business Development Team, the Community Liaison presents a positive and professional public image of the facility within the community.

The Community Liaison is responsible for implementing the facility's strategic sales and marketing plans, enhancing the facility's brand/image, effectively managing their assigned territory and accounts, and works to achieve departmental and facility business development goals. The Community Liaison must be able to demonstrate tact, resourcefulness, patience and dedication in a fast-paced environment.

Hours are based on departmental and facility needs and may include day, evening and weekend hours, as directed by the Director of Business Development.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Meets with referral sources to promote using the facility when needing to place clients in a psychiatric hospital.
  • Works independently with the sources and makes business decisions to adequately meet the requests of the referring agency.
  • Recommends referrals to the hospitals programs or to outside professionals in the community.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of managed care concepts and contracts.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of hospital admission process for inpatient, outpatient and partial programs.
  • Acquires current knowledge of competition and other care providers.
  • Demonstrates ability to work with the public (i.e., one-to-one contacts, group presentations, etc.).
  • Documents accurate and efficient reports of sales calls, census, etc.
  • Participates in coordination, planning and implementation of hospital based workshops and other events.
  • Participates in strategic planning.
  • Represents the service-oriented image of the hospital to the community.
  • Performs work directly related to the management or general business operations of The Pavilion.
  • Exercises discretion and independent judgment with respect to business development matters of significance.
  • Responsible for maintaining car for travel.
  • Projects a positive image of The Pavilion by being courteous, helpful, friendly, and professional in relationships with patients, visitors and co-workers.
  • Assures compliance with federal, state, and organizational confidentiality regulations.
  • Responds to a "support code" in a therapeutic, appropriate manner as prescribed in the annual TCI in-service.
  • Maintains CPR and TCI certification, as well as OSHA annual in-service requirement.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education: Bachelor's degree in marketing, business or related field required. Experience may be evaluated on a case-by-case basis in lieu of a degree.

Experience: Prior marketing and/or sales experience within a behavioral healthcare setting preferred. Three years minimum documented experience in referral development, account management, sales growth, and physician relationships preferred.

Licensure/Certification: Must possess a valid Illinois Driver's License
