STS Technical Services is hiring a Prototype & Validation Technician - Electrical in Melbourne, Florida. This role supports aircraft electrical system mockups, prototype builds, and validation testing within a high-performance aviation environment.

Position Summary

The Prototype & Validation Technician - Electrical is responsible for the assembly, installation, inspection, and validation of aircraft electrical systems and components. This includes power generation, distribution, and utilization systems, as well as avionics, interior systems, wiring harnesses, and electrical instrumentation.

This role requires strong technical expertise, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate effectively with engineers and fellow technicians on large-scale prototype and development projects.


Key Responsibilities

  • Assemble and install aircraft electrical systems and components in mockups and aircraft environments
  • Install interior systems, avionics components, wiring harnesses, seats, panels, lights, and electrical instruments
  • Perform wiring and harness fabrication in accordance with technical drawings and specifications
  • Interpret and follow technical drawings, diagrams, and assembly instructions
  • Troubleshoot and repair aircraft electrical systems
  • Utilize electrical testing equipment such as multimeters and oscilloscopes
  • Ensure all work meets safety standards and applicable regulatory requirements
  • Inspect and test assembled components to verify quality and functionality
  • Collaborate with engineers and technicians to resolve technical issues
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safety-focused work environment

Education

  • FAA certification or equivalent may be required
  • Strong foundation in electrical theory and principles
  • Knowledge of electronic fundamentals including microprocessors and programmable logic controllers

Experience & Qualifications

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in aircraft electrical systems
  • Experience in electrical circuit analysis and troubleshooting
  • Familiarity with technical drawings and assembly instructions
  • Experience working within production processes and adhering to safety protocols
  • Knowledge of aircraft mockups, electrical systems, and components
  • Experience with electrical system integration and validation testing
  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements including FAA, EASA, and ANAC
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality control
  • Proven ability to work effectively in team environments
  • Physical ability to lift, bend, and stand for extended periods inside aircraft and mockups
