Job Summary

Loudoun County's Department of Parks, Recreation, and Community Services is actively seeking qualified candidates for a full-time Youth Outreach Specialist position. Under the overall guidance of a supervisor, the Youth Outreach Specialist plans, coordinates, and oversees teen programs and special activities for Loudoun County Parks, Recreation and Community Services. This role supports youth engagement, leadership development, and community involvement through high-quality Teen Services programming.
The Youth Outreach Specialist assists with program planning, marketing, outreach, evaluation, and volunteer coordination, and works collaboratively to meet changing community needs. This position is ideal for someone with experience working with teens, developing programs and events, and supervising volunteers in a fast-paced environment.
We are currently hiring for the following location(s): * PRCS, 742 Miller Drive SE, Leesburg, VA
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: * Plan and facilitate youth and teen programs, special events, and outreach initiatives. * Conduct community outreach and recruit participants and volunteers. * Develop marketing materials and promote programs across multiple platforms. * Provide ongoing oversight of Teen Services programs. * Evaluate programs and use data to improve future offers. * Supervise volunteers and support program operations and budgets. * Prepare reports and communicate with staff, families, and community partners. * May carry out additional critical job responsibilities pertinent to the specific role and departmental assignment.
*Flexible working schedule that covers evenings, weekends, and occasional holidays. A dynamic workplace may require the ability to lift up to 50 pounds. Eligible for teleworking once division requirements are met. *

Minimum Qualifications
-
High School Diploma or equivalent; two (2) years of related work experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preferred Qualifications: * Bachelor's degree in education, Parks and Recreation, or a related field. * Knowledge of recreation programs and events. * Experience with RecTrac for at least six months. * Knowledge of basic research and survey techniques. * Experience working with middle school and high school teens for a year (1). * At least one year of supervisory experience. * Strong communication, problem-solving, and teamwork skills. * Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work independently.

Job Contingencies and Special Requirements

Must undergo criminal, credit, DMV, and Child Protective Services (CPS) background checks. A valid driver's license and good driving record are required. Annual reviews of driving records may be conducted to ensure ongoing qualification. Fingerprinting, TB test within 30 days of hire. Hold or obtain First Aid/CPR certifications at hire or within four (4) months.
