Responsibilities: Presbyterian is seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Pharmacy Procurement Agent to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for purchasing pharmaceuticals for the PHS system while adhering to contracts and furnishing financial information to pharmacy administration. Some key responsibilities include:
- Ensure adequate stock of pharmaceuticals..
- Serves as supplier and purchasing consultant to regional hospitals and clinics.
- Ensures contract compliance and correct pricing for all purchases.
- Provide pharmacy administration with monthly financial, purchasing and issues reports.
- Interacts with pharmaceutical representatives to ensure adequate service levels.
- Researches short supply items, finding alternative sources and obtains emergency pharmaceuticals when required.
- Communicates with pharmacy staff on availability of pharmaceuticals.
- Processes all drug recalls and checks stock for recalled items.
- Responsible for adherence to the Department Compliance Plan for Controlled Substances.
- Reviews wholesaler reports for unpaid invoices. Tracks invoices with Accounts Payable.
- Conducts complete inventories of stock, completes reports
- Oversees the return of pharmaceuticals to reverse distributors.
- Perform other functions as required.
Qualifications:
- High school degree or GED
- Active NM Board of Pharmacy license required.
- National Pharmacy Technician Certification-PTCB
- Three years of experience in pharmacy, preferably in pharmacy purchasing
