*About the Role* We are seeking an experienced *Patient Account Representative* to manage and resolve patient accounts with accuracy, urgency, and strong attention to detail. This role supports the full healthcare revenue cycle-from account creation through payment resolution. You will work with government and commercial payors to ensure timely reimbursement, resolve claim issues, and maintain high-quality account documentation.
This is an excellent opportunity to get your foot in the door with a widely recognized organization in the healthcare space. *Key Responsibilities* * Review and research patient accounts using internal billing systems and payer portals. * Conduct follow-up with insurance companies, patients, and other stakeholders by phone, email, or portal communication. * Resolve claim issues including billing discrepancies, coding errors, demographic corrections, and payer denials. * Request supporting documents such as medical records or patient information when needed. * Process corrected claims, secondary billing, re-bills, and manage payer disputes. * Identify payer trends, recoupment issues, and system irregularities. * Maintain accurate, concise, and detailed account notes. * Manage daily inventory of assigned accounts to prevent backlogs. * Escalate aging accounts or recurring issues that impact reimbursement. *Required Skills & Experience* *Must Have:* * Experience working in *EPIC* systems * Experience *submitting hospital claims* for reimbursement * Hands-on experience with *insurance follow-up* to secure payment * Experience working with *institutional claims* * Experience with *Medicare* * Intermediate understanding of *UB-04* hospital billing requirements * Familiarity with *HCFA 1500* forms *Preferred Qualifications* * Experience in healthcare revenue cycle, insurance collections, or patient accounting * Knowledge of Commercial, Managed Care, Medicare, and Medicaid payors * Strong computer/technical navigation skills across systems and payer websites * Excellent written and verbal communication skills * Ability to independently analyze accounts, identify issues, and create solutions * Professional interpersonal skills when interacting with payors, patients, attorneys, physicians, and colleagues * Strong organizational skills, able to meet productivity and quality standards *Job Type & Location*This is a Contract position based out of Dallas, TX. *Pay and Benefits*The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $21.00/hr.
