Job Description: Field Deployment Technician Employment Type: Contract Schedule: 4-8 hours per day (4-hour minimum guarantee per scheduled workday) Travel: 100% of the time in and around the state of Kentucky Rate: $25.00/hr Mileage Reimbursement: Yes We are actively seeking candidates located in central Kentucky. The Technicians must reside within reasonable driving distance Daily travel to assigned stores is required. TEKsystems is deploying 2 Field Technicians to support a nationwide installation project. This initiative includes replacing approximately POS systems across 1200 locations across the US. The 2 Field Technicians will only support ~20 Kentucky locations. The project rolls out regionally starting in March with all work targeted for completion by April 30, 2026. Role Summary Each market will have a two-technician team assigned to execute all scheduled deployments together. Technicians will complete 1-2 store visits per day, including installations, upgrades, testing, and documentation. If a market's footprint exceeds the coverage capacity of one team, additional teams may be assigned. Key Responsibilities * Replace legacy POS keypads new ones. * Perform installation tasks for: * Self-Checkout (SCO) stations * Associate / POC registers * Complete both scheduled visits for every assigned store * Conduct testing, validation, device mounting, cable management, cleanup * Provide daily status updates to project leadership * Maintain accurate documentation and adhere to deployment standards * Represent TEKsystems professionally in a customer-facing retail environment Required Tools (Technician-Provided) Technicians must bring their own tools, including: * Screwdriver * Utility knife * Security Torx / tamperproof bit set * Velcro cable straps (reusable) * Zip ties (heavy-duty backup) * Doublesided mounting tape * Wire cutters * Alcohol wipes The following consumables from above may be purchased and reimbursed: * Velcro cable straps (reusable) * Zip ties (backup / heavy hold) * Doublesided mounting tape * Alcohol wipes Requirements * Experience with IT deployments, field service, or POS hardware (preferred) * Ability to work consistently with an assigned partner technician * Reliable transportation and ability to travel to multiple local stores daily * Ability to lift and install POS hardware and cabling * Strong communication and professionalism * Must be available for all scheduled dates in the market assigned Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Lexington, KY.
