| Brief Summary of Work for this Position |
Housing and Residence Life (
HRL) seeks a temporary employee to assist with managing facilities projects, primarily during the summer months. The primary mission is to assist the
HRL Facilities Planning and Project Manager with oversight of
HRL summer projects. The employee must have the ability to oversee standard, day-to-day construction and repair activities; the ability to monitor, inspect and maintain quality control for contractor repairs; help oversee multiple projects at one time; and interact with students, staff, and contractors in a professional manner.
Potential responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Assessing and approving contractor work based on agreed scope and standards
- Identifying and resolving project issues that may delay or prevent completion
- Daily onsite project walk-throughs
- Assisting with materials delivery and disposal/surplus
- Communicating changes to project work schedules or scope
- Ensuring contractor cleanliness and appropriate behavior onsite
- Communicating with housekeeping staff regarding summer or conference cleans
- Communicating with UNCW Physical Plant staff, supervisors, and Project Managers
- Assisting with UNCW Residence Hall move-in processes as needed
- Helping manage initial fall semester work order processing
Preferred dates of employment are April 13, 2026 to approximately September 4, 2026 but will be negotiable starting no earlier than April 13 and going no later than September 4.
