Primary Purpose of Organizational Unit
University Development's purpose is to support the mission of the university by raising private resources to enhance financial support for students, faculty, programs, and facilities. University Development provides leadership and centralized services to all development offices throughout the University, serving as a focal point for annual giving, application development and IT support; campaign management; constituent programs; corporate and foundation relations; donor relations; gift planning; gift services; industry relations; marketing/communications; parents giving; principal gifts; prospect management, research and analytics; regional programs; scholarships and student aid; talent management; university events; and volunteer engagement.

Position Summary
This position may be eligible for a hybrid work arrangement that may include a partially remote work location, consistent with System Office policy. UNC Chapel Hill employees are generally required to reside within a reasonable commuting distance of their assigned duty station.

Reporting to the Senior Associate Vice Chancellor and serving on their Executive Leadership Committee, the Assistant Vice Chancellor for Kenan-Flagler Business School (Assistant Vice Chancellor) collaborates closely with the dean and other senior leaders across Kenan-Flagler Business School to establish and pursue the strategic direction, goals, and externally sourced funding streams to build on past success and propel the institution forward through a period of growth and innovation and as one of the world's top business schools.
As an innovative and highly collaborative leader, the Assistant Vice Chancellor leads the Kenan-Flagler Office of Advancement, with a team of approximately 30 talented professional staff, in a range of mission-critical activities that include fundraising and donor development, alumni engagement, stewardship, brand-building, and impact reporting. Engaging a passionate alumni network, corporations, and other friends of the school, the Assistant Vice Chancellor works with key constituents, including the dean, UNC's development office, and the school's advisory and foundation boards to raise significant private funds to enable Kenan-Flagler Business School to continue engaging top faculty, delivering outstanding academic programming, innovating in learning and student engagement, and extending the School's positive impact in North Carolina, the United States, and around the world
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
Minimum of a bachelor's degree required (or foreign degree equivalent) with related experience. For positions with responsibility for direct solicitation of gifts and funds, a minimum of 1 year of professional-level, direct solicitation/fundraising experience is required.
Required Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience
Minimum of 8-10 years of successful fundraising experience. A demonstrated record of significant leadership and fundraising accomplishments.
Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience
Preference for direct experience soliciting major gifts. Preference for capital campaign experience; management experience in a complex work environment.
Special Physical/Mental Requirements
Campus Security Authority Responsibilities

This position is designated as a Campus Security Authority in accordance with the Clery Act. This position will be required to report Clery crimes to the Clery Compliance Manager and complete annual training about reporting responsibilities.
