Must Be eligible for the DOW SkillBridge Program and remain eligible throughout the program To be considered, candidates must be eligible for the DoW SkillBridge Program and meet all job-specific education and experience requirements. Preference will be given to those able to participate for at least 90 days, with a maximum of 180 days. Participants must be willing to work the assigned shift. Please note that military service members in a SkillBridge program are not eligible for wages or other benefits. To qualify, you must have 180 days or fewer remaining before your discharge date, have completed at least 180 consecutive days of active military service, obtain approval from your unit commander, and agree that participation may be terminated at any time by your service branch if mission requirements dictate. Education and Experience Requirements SkillBridge Final Line Mech I - 1 years aerospace/aviation experience or equivalent mechanical experience such as auto mechanics, heavy equipment, etc. SkillBridge Final Line Mech II - 3 years aerospace/aviation experience or equivalent mechanical experience such as auto mechanics, heavy equipment, etc. SkillBridge Final Line Mech III- 5 years aerospace/aviation experience or equivalent mechanical experience such as auto mechanics, heavy equipment, etc. Education and Experience Requirements
High School Diploma or GED required. 3 years aerospace/aviation experience or equivalent mechanical experience such as auto mechanics, heavy equipment, etc. A&P (FAA Airframe and Powerplant) license preferred.
Position Purpose:
In a team oriented work environment, install parts and components, lines, cables, etc. in area assigned using required. tools and appropriate prints, specifications, and operational requirements to complete work assigned through final inspection, and assure conformance to specifications. May assist in instructing or mentoring junior mechanics. Job Description
