Reports to: Senior Food Service Manager


Program: 1005-Village


Department: Participant Resources


Location: The Village - 527 Crocker Street, Los Angeles, CA 90013


Schedule: Wednesday - Sunday, 6am - 2:30pm


Status: Full-time/Non-Exempt/Non-Management

Job Description Summary:


The successful candidate will be responsible for helping prep food in the kitchen and then deliver and serve that food at various locations. Must be available to work between the hours of 6 am - 2:30 pm must be able to work weekends (both Saturday and Sunday) and holidays.



Job Description Essential Duties and Responsibilities:



  • Deliver meals to agency projects at multiple locations
  • Help other Food Services staff in the kitchen with daily responsibilities including but not limited to food prep, dishwashing, taking out the trash, sweeping, mopping, receiving orders etc.
  • Serve meals and cleans up at location as needed
  • Report any issues with meal delivery or service at the location
  • Check Food Services inventory at each location and replenish as needed
  • Keep vehicle clean and in good operating condition
  • Inspect vehicle daily and report any maintenance issue immediately to supervisor (agency vehicles only)
  • Assists in scheduling meal deliveries with the supervisor to minimize time and distance between deliveries.
  • Pick-up and return vehicles to garage or parking place daily (agency vehicles only)
  • Dress professionally and follow the company's dress code
  • Report any case of accident, injury, or damage of vehicle or self to the supervisor



Job Description Qualifications:



  • High School Diploma or GED or Equivalent
  • Valid CA Commercial Driver's license (CDL), reliable car, auto insurance, and an acceptable driving record
  • 2 years or more of driving experience in Los Angeles or high traffic areas.
  • May need to stand, reach, lift, bend, kneel, stoop, climb, push and pull items weighing 80 pounds or less on an intermittent basis
  • Demonstrated sensitivity to the needs of the people we serve



Job Description Preferred Qualifications:



  • Bilingual English/Spanish a plus



Job Description Work Environment:


  • Mostly kitchen environment including high temperatures
  • Will necessitate working in busy and loud environments.
  • Will be exposed to elements like cold, heat, dust, noise, and odor.
  • Will need frequently to stand, reach, lift, bend, kneel, stoop, climb, push, and pull items weighing 80 pounds or less
  • Will be required to stand for long periods of time
