Position Summary
The General Manager of Learning & Development oversees the training strategy, delivery, and performance of Customer Service training across Domestic and International operations. This includes managing instructor teams, overseeing new station startups, tracking training performance, and ensuring all curricula meet evolving business needs. The role maintains effective near-term delivery while identifying long-term enhancements, ensuring strong integration between training and the broader business. Essential Duties & Responsibilities* Oversee the full training strategy and delivery globally. * Lead training-related startup activities, ensuring readiness, staffing, and successful execution. * Track training effectiveness, delivery quality, instructor performance, and compliance. * Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, airport, and station leaders. * Collaborate with corporate business units to align training with operational priorities. * Maintain a strong feedback loop with frontline teams to identify gaps. * Optimize training organization roles for maximum operational impact. * Prioritize resources to balance strategic initiatives with immediate training needs. * Ensure a measurable path from training to demonstrated team proficiency. * Introduce innovative training methods, tools and resources to support a dynamic workforce. * Lead, develop, and motivate a growing, diverse global training team. * Identify improvement opportunities and evolve the training product continuously. * Oversee processes and communication for training-related projects. * Prepare, deliver, and refine training strategies based on leadership feedback. Minimum Qualifications* Bachelor's or Master's degree, or 5+ years of relevant/equivalent experience. * Proven track record of proactive relationship management. * Ability to work collaboratively across cultures and organizational levels. * Strong leadership skills with ability to develop future talent. * High energy, resilience, and self-motivation. * Ability to manage conflicting priorities and make sound decisions. * Excellent communication skills, including presentations and briefings. * Strong problem-solving abilities and ability to independently drive results. * Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Power BI, Microsoft 365 tools, and Adobe Creative Suite. * Extensive expertise in Smartsheet, including building, maintaining, and optimizing workflows, reporting, and dashboards. * Demonstrated ability to maintain and manage a full Profit & Loss (P&L), including forecasting, budgeting, and financial tracking. * Holds certifications and possesses strong working knowledge of multiple carrier-specific training programs. Preferred Qualifications* Experience in or supporting an operational environment. * Bilingual or multilingual proficiency strongly preferred. Work Environment & Travel* Ability to work in both training environment and operational settings, including outdoor work areas as needed. * Travel will range from 50-70% depending on operational assignments and training needs.
