Job Description

Under the direct supervision of the Director of Golf will be responsible for supervising specific parts of the golf operation including but not limited to Starters, Rangers, and Outside Golf Staff as well as the support of the daily operation of the Golf Pro Shop. May teach private, group and junior golf lessons as available.

Responsibilities

  • Administration operations of the Golf Pro Shop including daily opening and closing of the Clubhouse, collection of greens fees, rental of carts and clubs, sale of range balls and Pro Shop merchandise.
  • Responsible for daily cash reports and bank deposits at the end of each shift. Performs daily collection, deposit and accounting procedures for golf course fees and charges.
  • Assists in the administration and scheduling of leagues and tournaments, and organizes activities for the Men's and Lady's Clubs as well as Junior Programs.
  • Schedules and supervises seasonal Outside Golf Staff. Responsible for the training and evaluation of selected staff members and for conducting staff and safety meetings.
  • Works with fellow Golf Pro Shop employees in a team approach to daily operations; creates and fosters a high degree of guest service and professionalism in the workplace. Provides service and hospitality to all Golf Pro Shop and Golf Course guests while enforcing all of the policies and procedures of each.
  • Assists the Director of Golf with presentations and public relations activities; serves as the Resort's golf representative as required. Assumes the duties of the Director of Golf in his/her absence.
  • Instructs private and group lessons; assists with golf clinics.
  • Runs and organizes all tournament operations including tournament software.

Tools and Equipment:

  • Telephone, pen/pencil, photo-copying machine, hand and stationary tools as related to trade. Golf carts, golf clubs and utility vehicles.

Working Environment:

  • Interior of hotel, in all areas of the hotel. Exposure to extreme hot and cold temperatures.
  • Exterior of hotel with exposure to weather conditions.
  • Exposure to various hazardous chemicals.


Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED, plus two years relevant experience or an equivalent combination of training, experience, and/or education.
  • Bachelor's degree in business or related field preferred.
  • Must possess a teaching background in group, private and junior golf instruction.
  • Must have excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Must provide excellent service to internal and external customers.
  • Must have excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Must be attentive to detail.
  • Must be available to work flexible hours to include nights, weekends, and holidays.
