About the role:

As an External Funding & Government Program Manager in Artificial Intelligence and Innovation you will perform a critical role in bringing high priority technologies to the market. Maturing technologies from the laboratory to adoption involves research and development supported with both internal and external funding. You will translate and map Westinghouse's research and development opportunities against identified external funding sources and research partners, lead proposal development and oversight of awards.

You will report to the Senior Manager - Technology to Market. This is a hybrid role located in Cranberry, PA.



Key Responsibilities:

  • Grow strategic engagement with external funding agencies to grow Westinghouse research and development priorities. You will innovate by building an external funding engagement posture in close collaboration with Government Affairs, while maintaining deep awareness of both internal and external customer needs to anticipate and meet expectations.
  • You will partner with a broad set of all partners, including Innovation Strategy leads, departments, technical leaders, government agencies, and research partners. Acting with customers in mind, you will find feedback and use insights to improve funding strategies and partnership outcomes.
  • You will create value through potential funding opportunities. These opportunities are pursued using multiple approaches, such as web-crawler technologies, analysis of federal budget justifications, networking at industry conferences, and using existing partnerships.
  • Work with government agencies and external partners, while collaborating across organizational boundaries. They identify and engage internal technical and business leaders to evaluate opportunities and build agreement. They ensure shared goals take precedence over individual priorities, because cooperation is necessary for the good of the team and its success.
  • You will become familiar with Notices of Funding Opportunities (NOFOs) and proposal protocols, and leading proposal development, approval, and submission when AI&I is the lead Westinghouse organization. When another team leads, you will provide timely, responsive support-demonstrating speed and urgency in responding to changing demands and uncertainty.


Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in business administration, Science, or Engineering

5+ years of relevant experience

Master's degree in business administration, Science, or Engineering preferred.

We are committed to transparency and equity in all of our people practices. The base salary range for this position, which is dependent upon experience, qualifications and skills, is estimated to be $130,400 to $163,000 per year.
