Job Description




As a Security Officer - Armed Patrol Specialist in Jacksonville, FL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Utilities, and more. Join Allied Universal as an armed patrol officer supporting a critical utilities location. You will conduct routine patrols, remain highly visible to help discourage security-related incidents, and manage access control and badge checks while providing clear, professional customer service. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to facility personnel, contractors, and visitors by following security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a utilities location.
  • Conduct regular and random armed patrols of buildings, substations, parking areas, and perimeter fencing to help to deter unauthorized entry, vandalism, and theft.
  • Monitor access points, verify identification and/or work authorization, and help manage vehicle and pedestrian traffic in accordance with post orders.
  • Respond to alarms, incidents, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, coordinating with site leadership and public responders as directed.
  • Complete accurate reports and logs, document unusual activity, and communicate relevant information during shift change and/or through established notification procedures.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Have 1 or more years of armed security, law enforcement, and/or military experience.
  • Possess an armed guard card and/or license.
  • Client requires proof of a high school diploma and/or GED.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
