Responsibilities

Highlands Behavioral Health System is an 86 bed, acute care psychiatric hospital located in Littleton, CO. Highlands features individual units for adolescents, adults, and seniors, and offers inpatient acute care, partial hospitalization, and intensive outpatient programs. www.highlandsbhs.com

Under the direction of the Group Director of Intake, the Intake Lead assures smooth and orderly processes are followed for responding to Intake calls, referrals, and admission into the hospital. Intake Lead is accountable for assisting in management of the department, providing supervision for Intake Staff, crisis intervention, and responding to referrals appropriately. This position interfaces closely with both internal hospital staff, facility physicians, as well as referring hospitals, patients, families, and community referral sources. The working position of Intake Lead will assist in daily administrative duties, assist the Group Director of Intake and Intake Clinical Manager in assigned tasks, complete Intake Assessor duties as well as duties of the Patient Access Coordinator as needed within department. Position of Intake Lead requires skill of providing effective leadership within the Intake Department and the ability to organize Intake staff to effectively and timely serve patients, families, referral sources through the referral and Admission process. This position carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and procedures. This includes assisting the Intake Director and Intake Clinical Manager and training of new employees as well as appraising performance, disciplining employees, addressing complaints, and resolving problems.

Qualifications

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

  • Masters Degree in Psychology, Social Work or Counseling.
  • Licensed Clinican or RN in the state of Colorado, preferred but not required. If not licensed must have the ability to obtain licensure (LPC or LCSW). Supervision for employees working towards licensure can be provided onsite.
  • Prefer previous experience with psychiatric patients of all ages.
